We have just bought a bed from a well known store, it was in the sale
reduced from
£1200 to £499, when we asked the assistant if it had really been that price
originally, she told us it was just a sales gimmick to get people to go for
what they thought was the best bargain, apparently to get round the law,
they put it on sale at that price for two or three weeks, then reduce it to

I went to a lighting store last weekend where I have bought quite a few
times outwith the sale. I found it was no sale because they were selling the
light fittings without the little bulbs which were £5.each. £4. if you
bought 10 or more. The fitting I had bought before had 10 bulbs included,
now you had to buy the bulbs so back up to the original price. What a con.

what it should be, she said the bed we had bought had been around £600, so
we still got a bargain.

It doesn't even need to be that store if it's a chain it just needs to be
one store in the chain. I never take reduced prices at face value.

Like the BOGOF deals. They're always way overpriced so that a substantial
profit will still be made when you get the supposedly free one. :(

I was in Boots yesterday trying to spend a £3 voucher against the "top"
hairdressers hair products. I found two John Frieda thingies costing £1.59
each, but the voucher was only applicable if you spent more than £6. I gave
the voucher back.
