This is (very similar to) a room desription in the very first computer
adventure game, written in FORTRAN on a mainframe computer, in the days
when an interactive terminal was a TeleTYpewriter, not a CRT monitor.
It was later ported to BASIC on nearly all the early personal computers,
like the TRS-80, and was the basis of Zork, the first Infocom adventure.

No point and click in them days, not even any pictures, just text
descriptions, and (mainly) two word commands, but , like radio, you got
better images.
