Welcome home Wrinklie :-)
I recognise Hay Tor.
On Diana and Prince Charles' wedding day we were given a day off from the
Coastguard Training Centre, which in those days was in Brixham.
Not being interested in seeing the ceremony on TV or listening to it on a
radio I took myself up on to Dartmoor as far away from any form of
electronic communications as I could get :-)
It was a really beautiful day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
At night a friend and I watched a laser and fireworks display on Paignton
beach in perfect summer weather.
Happy memories.

Our van is situated at Great Palstone which is on the edge of Dartmoor
and we endeavour to have at least one day on the moor at each visit.
Glad it stirred some memories for you Mike.
Another favourite spot is Bovisand, overlooking the Sound.
All the Rhodies are beside the run off from Avon Dam, a beautiful walk
at any time of the year, but moreso when they are in bloom.
