...you go to your comfortable bed in a warm house with a full stomach,
please spare a thought for the poor souls who are still suffering from the
Asian Tsunami, a large number of whom are still without a proper home,
sufficient food, money or a job.

Thanks for the timely reminder, Pete. Also think about others
throughout the world who have suffered this year. And even the people
in this country who don't have enough to eat or warm beds in which to
sleep.
One of my daughters has been doing some voluntary work in Madagascar
taking part in self help schemes giving people the tools and knowledge
to help themselves and feel proud of their achievements. Its hard to
believe that the equivalent of £30 would pay a teacher's salary for a
month over there
Then here there are the people here like the Big Issue seller who found
himself homeless for whatever reason and is doing his best to get back
on his feet and, as he said, keep his dignity

Thank you.

with me but will be sent to someone in a country far away and will make
a huge difference to their lives. I thought of the donkey a lot on
Boxing Day when I saw the people who use them as transport, as a means
to get their produce to market and to help plough the land they grow
stuff on..and use the maure not only to enrich the soil but to mix with
straw to make their homes..good stuff manure!. I know people who have
had lots of smashing pressies this Christmas, not just donkeys but
chickens, cows, etc etc., plus stetescops and medical equipment. Gave
them much more pleasure than a box of choccies or a bottle of
perfume..even if they never actually get to see them :-)
