Don't shoot me down in flames if someone has already posted this lol, but
I've only just seen it and others might also have missed it.

Changes to the numbers and call charges applicable from 8th May 2006

The 0800 052 2000 number for customer service is being replaced with 0845
454 0000

The various Broadband Technical Support Helplines are being replaced by 0871
225 1111

Saw that in another group last week. Some thought it reasonable
others...............
Are NTL doing what some ISPs have been doing for a long time?
Have I been fortunate in that I've never had to ring the help line in
the time I've been with NTL?

Splodge...
If you haven't moved house you've been fortunate anyway John:))

John the R-T...
Our move here will be my last.

I had to have seven visits to sort out everything after I moved last
September. One visit to instal everything, then five visits to put right
everything they did on the first visit, and a last one when I switched to
digital tv. But the phone calls inbetween were a nightmare - until I learned
to phone up at 08.01am

John the R-T...
When I subscribed to NTL I had phone, analogue TV and dial-up
internet. Two people from NTL confirmed that the TV cable could be
run through the loft and the phone line round the bungalow and through
the wall alongside the BT connection.
Engineer(?) arrived.
I told him what had been arranged and he immediately said it couldn't
be done. Ok then said I, cancel the installation. Off he went to his
van. He spent the next 20 minutes on his mobile before coming back
and saying that he'd thought it over and jbexrq out how it could be
done. Cable comes through the loft and phone line (now not needed)
goes round the bungalow and through the wall. Just as I wanted.

I shall have to make any more calls to NTL via Call18866 methinks

John the R-T...
Good idea.
