Life gets tedious - Was Green Screen

Problems continue, Screen bust, comp broke, net drive dikky, cows run
dry, hens not laying, life gets rather tedious don't it.

Will be getting on to Medion to day to see what can be done. Trouble
is I cannot just send the tower to them as there are too many private
letters and files on the disk, some like a list of passwords and pin
numbers are encrypted with pgp others are not. I do not trust the
various progs keeping a track of such items, like browsers asking if
they should keep a note of password, no double they keep such things
encrypted, but how strong?

Cannot get at the Medion at all, nothing, not even the BIOS so suspect
fault is on the mother board. So options would appear to be, take out
the HD and send comp off, or fit a new mother board myself.

If it's still under warranty it seems a pity to not use the warranty?

I appreciate the issue with data though. When the keyboard on my
Toshiba played up I formatted the data drive, not fool proof but avoids
engineers picking up personal data easily. I expect they will expect it
to have a HD with an OS on it to attempt a repair though.

If it's out of warranty then using the case etc. to build a new PC may
be a good option, lots of really nice mobo/CPU combinations around at
the moment :-)
