Cannot get AVG updates

My AVG Icon in task bar is grey and I am unable to get the updates.
Tells me to restart the computer but it does not make any difference.

You probably can't connect because AVG's servers are busy.

That may well be the prob - so all she really needs to do is to try
again?

Bu tI suspect (from her other Reply) that she isn't actually trying
to do a *Manual* Update & is just relying on its built-in AutoUpdate
thing?

Maybe she does realise that there's a facility in AVG to check for an
Update Manually, whenever you want.

But isn't the Link on that Page just a Link to the Download for the AVG
*Program* itself?
& not for the Virus database?

That Link offers a Version of the Program that is (about) a week old -
maybe that's the latest *Program* Version, but it's definitely not the
latest Virus Database, which is available from the AVG Website (or by
using the [Update] Button in AVG)

What does it say (what's the Error Message), when you try to Update it?
Does it say there's a problem Connecting to the Server?
Or does it say that it can't Locate (Find) the Server?
Or does it say that there aren't any Updates?

Or what?
