Jeff Gaines...
I'm sure I saw a recommendation recently, but I can't find it - perhaps it
was another group...

It has been suggested that I buy grandson a printer for Xmas, he seems to
be the new owner of the laptop. Something smallish would be good as it
will be in the lounge, but I guess it needs to be robust enough for a four
year old to prod a bit :-)

Michaelangelo...
Whatever happened to small boys toys?!

Rabbit...
Santa will be delivering them to the big boys :-)

Jeff Gaines...
He's got them all, I really don't know if that's good or bad for him but
he is a nice, well behaved kid.

Michaelangelo...
I would be genuinely concerned about a 4 year old with his own,
personal laptop.

I used to think I was really lucky if I got a walnut with my orange at
Xmas :-))

Michaelangelo...
You got a walnut AND an orange!?

David C....
You guys weren't living in holes i'nt road?

Michaelangelo...
Nah. We lived in a hole in the middle of the North Sea. Holes in roads
were only for the more prosperous folks - those that were just a few
feet below the breadline.

I like HP printers because you get a new print head when you buy a new
cartridge, but perhaps I need to think more about the cost of ink (which
daughter will have to pay for!).

Anybody got any suggestions? I have found the HP Deskjet HP5940 which
looks neat but a recommendation is worth a lot :-)

donut...
Bought this model in May this year to replace an old HP Deskjet and although
I do a good amount of printing I am still running on the original
cartridges. I am extremely pleased with it.

Jackie...
I like HP printers Jeff, I buy `compatible` inks - much cheaper and
(touch wood) have never had problems
I have had my printer about 4 years now.

Jeff Gaines...
Many thanks for all the replies :-)

Looks like I'll have to make a choice, the bigger one or the smaller one,
decisions, decisions!

Gareth...
This is what Grannie Annie said on the 21st Nov....

"I use a little HP Deskjet I bought from PC World, it was only about
£30.
I looked on their site, they have an up to date equivalent HP DJ3940
for £34.99. It's great for the caravan."

BELKIN PC to Printer 2.1M USB 1.1/2.0 Cable - HALF PRICE WHEN YOU BUY THIS
PRINTER! - USUAL PRICE £19.99,OFFER PRICE £9.99
Please Note:
You will need a USB cable to use this printer with your PC!

Also the printer cost almost £40 if you buy it in store !

Gareth...
Yes, I'd seen that Val.
I do like the idea of ordering it online, letting someone in the store
go and find it for you, putting it in the 'reserved' bay for you and
then for you to go and collect it at a cheaper price than on their
shelf. :-)

Anita...
I have a canon i80 which fits in the case with my lap top - it is a good
little printer and it is great for photos too :)

Aries...
it's expensive tho isn't it

Anita...
It is - but the Apple stores have it for £79.99 which is less than half
price
