After seeing Jackie's excellent pictures, and becoming aware of the
services of Picasa I thought I would have a go myself.

I think you are looking at the old school, it was quite famous a one
time, when the choir won a major Eistedfod. It has been converted to
apartments now.

They're in the process of doing that to my old Grammar School (Sheffield
City GS). It's right in the centre of Sheffield, about 100 yards from the
town hall. It was closed as a school around 1963 when they moved all pupils
and staff to a new purpose built comprehensive in the suburbs. The old
building was taken over be the LEA as their offices, but closed a few years
ago. The reckon the apartments start at £150 000, don't know what the
penthouses will fetch though.
If you know Sheffield at all the old school is just round the rear of the
City Hall.

Around here they are turning old school buildings into apartments, and
old mills into luxury apartments.

We don't have mills round he. I reckon the old steel w*rks weren't
suitable. They seem to get bulldozed and then apartments built where they
used to be.
