Jim Scott...
I spend a fair bit of time listening to BBC 5 Live, mainly for the football.
However I get more and more frustrated by the quality and professionalism of
the presenters. The female presenters screech even when calm, but go beyond
the hearing of dogs when excited.
Both they and the men have a confrontational style which constantly borders
on rudeness.
There was a chap (a bit odd I admit) who was speaking up for St George and
his day, late yesterday, and the female was dismissive, sarcastic and
downright nasty. The male presenter obviously stepped in to shut her up
before the telephones began ringing.
I don't mind villains and politicians being grilled, but not everyone who
comes on the programme; please.
As for the Irish guy who comes on after midnight....obviously a government
ploy to get us to switch off and go to bed!

Does it w*rk for you then Jim? :)

David Sutcliffe...
spot on Jim and a chance for me to offload my frustration. Switched on
at half time to listen to the second half commentary only to find the
dreadful Alan Green rabbiting on so gave it miss for a good 45 minutes
and thought I would get the final score by then. No such luck as the
said AG was still rabbiting on and for five minutes told me everything
except the score, in spite of my rantings. My wife supplied the missing
info that the Boro were a goal down, and sadly that is how it remained.
Rant over and feeling the better for it

May...
Must admit to noticing the screeching, the bad manners, etc and, I add,
the very poorly modulated voices - both genders. As for the sarcasm, sarcasm
was described as "the lowest form of wit" or something like that. Am I not
correct? It all adds up to something difficult to listen to... I'm not an
avid listener to that prog. I'd rather listen to the call of whales.
