I am having problems downloading the plugin Frogman.

How do you get the picture right at the top. Ascii Art seems to have
his own. I thought I might like a Daisy, seeing as that is my new
Hobbit name.

Trying to save here: "Once this is done, copy your Faces in the folder
\\MesNews\Plugins\Face"

I don't have a subdirectory called Face in MesNews\Plugins.

Go to the \\MesNews\Plugins\ folder and then over on the left click
on "Create New Folder" and name it faces

I've created the xface "daisey.png" and made a subdirectory \faces and
put it in. Now what, how do I get it to show in the post?

First of all, don't call the coloured PNG files "X-Faces". ;-)
'X-Faces' are black and white
'Faces' are the coloured PNG files.

OK... can you see a little orange ball with a black diagonal 'thingy'
across it? Click on that and go to...
Header > Face and X-Face > tick 'Show X-Face and Face'

...that may not get them showing yet but it needs to be done.

They don't show actually *in* the Post - they are Added in (by the
Newsreader, depending on how its Options are Set) as an "X-Face: "
Header.

& they rely on the *Recipient's* Newsreader then looking through the
Headers of the Post/Message for the "X-Face: " Header & then showing
the "X-Face" (Picture) in the Newsreader.

So I can't actually *make* a particular face show up when I post?

Yes if that is the only face in the folder it will show every time you
post.

Gareth I found the way to turn them on OK.
I wanted to be able to have the daisy show up on all my posts but no
other face.

That's ok, if you only want the one face to show then only put that one
PNG file in the 'face' folder (which you have done).

Now to get the face to actually show up can be a bit awkward as you may
have to do some tweaking and then it's trial and error.

I presume that you have the *plugin* ?

If so, and it is still not showing up, go to...
'Settings' > 'Plugin management' and make sure there is a tick
against 'PluginX-Face' and 'Change FaceColor V2.1' > then try
posting.

If that doesn't work, try changing the order of those items in the
'Settings' > 'Plugin Management' folder.

Don't change too many things at once though. Do one thing at a time and
then post to see if it works.

I'm only guessing here (cos I haven't used MesNews)...

Have you tried *Creating* a Sub-Folder (Directory) - of that name,
in that place - & then Copying/Saving the "Faces" Files into it?
