Strange how words mean different things in different parts of the country.
A sneck in Orkney is a door latch.
Your nose is your neb and a nebcloot is a handkerchief :-)

A sneck is a door latch in Lincolnshire too but it can also mean nosey -
a sneck is a nosey person but never heard a nose called a sneck
A neb is a nose as in keep your neb out but never heard a hanky called

miserable day now.

At 1am this morning it was warm and still outside, about an hour later the
breeze came back and hasn't gone away. It's dull and dreich looking out
there, the islands have disappeared again but despite the wind ( or maybe
because of it) it's still very mild if not as warm and sunny as yesterday.

Yesterday was an absolutely glorious day with unbroken sunshine all day.
Saw my first wild primrose in bloom - it was pink, not yellow! We get quite
a few of that colour down here just growing wild - lovely to see.

The sun is shining but the sky is a weird mixture of colours, so we
could be in for anything today.

Good morning Mike, it is dry here up to now but rain is forecast I believe..
I love to see the first wild primroses, not heard of pink ones though!!
