Tyke...
Just having trouble with Firefox.

Tyke...
Talking to myself I know but...

Managed to import my saved bookmarks from my docs.

I'm a little happier now.

I still cannot bookmark any new pages though.

I've checked all the setting I can but to no avail.

Steve...
This would be worth a read.

Steve...
and this one

Last week it automatically downloaded the latest update (Ver 2.0?)

All my bookmarks went missing but I found them in the Mozilla
file.Unfortunately I could not get them back into Firefox.

I have a copy of the saved bookmarks file from Firefox in My Docs but I've
no idea how to import them. The Import option in FF only asks for docs from
Internet Explorer.

Most annoying is that Firefox will not bookmark anything now unless I save
it as a tab on the top of the page.

I've looked in some of the help groups and Mozilla recommend a full
reinstall.

I did that and still I cannot bookmark. GRRR!

Any advice is most appreciated.

Steve...
Fx 2.0 allows you to import a bookmarks file from a file.

Goto
Bookmarks
Organise Bookmarks
File
Import
Check 'From File'
Click Next
Then follow your nose

synchronised and safe.

Steve...
Forgot to sat I use MozBacup as well, bit of a belt and braces guy.

Michaelangelo...
Firefox is a good browser when it all works but when it breaks (and
it's quite prone to breaking) it can be difficult/impossible to fix.
Opera is much more stable, works like Firefox - tabbed browsing,
personal bars etc and can do a lot more than Firefox, like saving
complete browsing sessions and re-opening all the previous pages with
one click. I used Firefox for nearly two years but then it started
losing functionality - bookmarking, wheel scrolling etc - so I reverted
to Opera, which is now free and doesn't carry adverts BTW and which I
had used previously. Problems solved. I should have stuck with it all
the time.

Steve...
You should really try MSFirefox 2007

the way a browser should work, the video is very good.

Michaelangelo...
Opera has been 'the way a browser should work' since version 5. I only
switched to Firefox because it was free and the free version of Opera
had adverts which were distracting and took up toolbar space. Opera is
now free and on version 9. I will try Firefox 2007 - I keep versions of
several browsers installed for testing web pages - and report back.

Steve...
I think you should read the site more closely!
