Troy's Human...
SWMBO is in charge of shopping in our house. For the last 3 months we've
been trying online shopping (Asda) and having all the bulky boring stuff
delivered. Wonderful - saves time - Great ! SWMBO *seemed* to liking it.

Asked SWMBO earlier this month about putting in this month's online order.
"Umm - we've still got stuff left from last time .... ". She's shown no
interest since ..

Today she went into town. Came back with loads of shopping - the stuff we'd

BunnyHare...
Yep

been getting online and delivered. Unloaded it all from the car in the rain
and cold and brought it into the house.

BunnyHare...
Ah but you see if you go to the store you can select exactly what you
want and also add things you had forgotten

Addicted to shopping ??

I just don't understand the other species :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Sounds like you're quite normal then TH. :)

BunnyHare...
Now me - I go to the store, select my shopping, pay for it then it gets
delivered to the house - best of both worlds

pmj...
Well...
That *could* be considered as being the *worst* of both worlds!!!

Not only do you have to endure traipsing all round the Shop,
but you also only have the choice of what's available in the
store, with no free substitutes.

But yes, I *can* actually see that going round the Shop is actually
better than trying to pick from Pictures on a Screen.

Jeff Gaines...
No way! It takes me 10 minutes online very 3 weeks with Tesco, I pay
£3.99 for delivery which saves me a 32 mile round trip and a couple of
hours of my time :-)

I took my neighbour to Safeway last week, she had a list of items on an
envelope and we were out for 4 hours!!!

jamps...
I also do it your way Jeff. 10 minutes every two or three weeks and just an
occaisional trip to our local Sainsbury's or Tesco's. This saves at least
two hours for the cost ( £3.99) of delivery. My time is worth more than
that! lol

Anita Carter...
I do the same, order from sainsburys on line and visit them once a
fortnight - to pick up bits and pieces, also have lunch there too:)
I tried Waitrose last week - my sister always enthuses about them and their
deliveries. To be honest I do not think they were better than Sainsburys -
but they were definitely a lot more expensive. Won't be shopping with them
again ;)

When I first started on-line grocery shopping I deliberately ordered all the
things that could be damaged by rough handling. I've never had any damaged
goods or been dissappointed with their selection. I had to phone them a few
weeks back because they had mistakenly put a large chicken in with my order!
They told me to keep it with their compliments because they wouldn't be
coming back my way until much later!

Yonks ago, I tried the original Tesco OnLine Shopping thing
(which involved Installing a special Program (from a CD) & then
Downloading a Database of Stock Listings & it was tedious & boring
in the extreme.

Jeff Gaines...
It's easier now, just need a browser.

Rabbit...
Yeah but you miss the clothes, CDs, DVDs, microwaves, tellys etc in the
sales ;-)

But when you go to the Shop (Supermarket) itself, you can find
*loads* of Yummy things in the Bakery Section!
:-)

Jeff Gaines...
That's a good reason for *not* going when you're a stone over-weight :-)

& also, you can get plenty of bargains (half price or less -
sometimes only 30 p or even as little as 10 p!) on a whole load of stuff
that they are Flogging off cheap, just cos the "Display by"
Date has been reached - even though it actually last a lot longer
than that.

I make a point of visiting supermarkets (late) on a Friday
or better still, Saturday, night - cos that's when you can stock up

Jeff Gaines...
My God, you know how to live it up pmj :-))

Rabbit...
Hey don't knock it the supermarket aisles today are known as a good place
for single people to meet each other and it's certainly IMHO a lot quieter
than modern clubs and pubs to get the chat up lines in ;-)

with some good bargains for the following week!

Ali...
I find Thursday night about 8pm best, usually - don't leave it to late or
all the bargains (like 800g in-store baked multigrain loaf for 8p) have been

noreen...
Why ? did you think you could;-))))

Splodge...
I understand her perfectly TH:)))
Splodge

snapped up. Sunday about 3pm is also good.
