I know I can change my PC DVD burner 5 ( I think) times from PAL to NTSC to
back up an NTSC DVD. The question is once I change it to NTSC can I burn as
many as I like before changing it back or does it need to be changed per DVD
?
Alternately is there any, preferably free, software which will convert NTSC
DVDs to PAL region 2 ? Or any way I can make a back up copy of 8 ( and

Once you've changed it then it will stay like that until you change it
back, so you can burn as many DVD's as you like.

Thank you, I suspected it would only jbex per DVD, I'm glad I was supected
wrongly.

Have a web-search for 'dvd region hack', keep you happy for hours :-)

Oh I've been there, that's how my standalone DVD players play NTSC :-)

No, I just know it usually works, as far as I am concerned copying my
media to protect it is quite legitimate.

Don't know, I play DVD's on a DVD player, but it's an option to try.

There are some well known and well used ones, don't know why you think
they're illegal though? You can buy multi-region DVD players quite
legitimately, it's just a s/w solution.

I don't regard them as 'pirate' things at all, as far as being careful
is concerned a quick web-search for any of them will soon show any issues.

However I'd never looked specifically for any for the pooter DVD. I now have
and found some stuff and got the living daylights scared out of me with dire
warnings about flashing. I think I'd need to wait till somebody recommended
one of the downloads as not likely to destroy my pooter.

possibly more in the future) NTSC DVDs ? Or even any way to reset the number
of times I can change the burner settings ?
These BTW are DVDs not available in the UK, not likely to be available in
the UK and the blurb at the beginning tells me I can legally make a back up
copy for my own use.
