Bram...
Was hinted at in another thread.

Any good friendly eateries with real ale that's easy to find.?
Is no one from the area going to take up the challenge?

Lin...
I certainly cannot take up the challenge because I don't know my way about
Glasgow. I only know how to get from the train to the shops.

Bram...
It's OK Lin.
You are not from the Glasgow area. It's about a 60 mile trip for you.
I know I went the 25 miles to York last year to research and sort out last
year's meet but I wouldn't expect anyone else to do it.
Is there no one here from the Glasgow area..?
No Body who's going to find somewhere for us..?

We'll be well behaved. Honest.

Pam the goose...
PINGU!!!
You're needed!
Oh, no, you're out all day these days. What a shame:(

Bram...
He'll see it later. Maybe he can advise if he can't organize.

I'm sure you get some of us foreigners from down here, queuing at the
border.

Splodge...
Glasgow? Where's that? Is that on the left hand side going up?
Splodge

Bram...
I believe so. Never been up that way meself. I'll make the effort if others
will.
:-)

Old Grizzly...
wouldnt make it this time Bram its a 12 hr train journey and there are
no flights from bristol to either Glasow or Prestwick Never mind :(

Bram...
I don't think it's gonna happen Len. No one wants to sort out a place.

We'll have to sort out a nearer one for you.
:-)

Nor...
Len, says shortest train journey is 5.42 and longest is almost 7 hours on
netrail site, 2 of the trains have no changes.
Also flights from easyjet to either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Noreen

BoyPete...
Mefinks you've just been told m8 :)

Nor...
what?
Noreen

Booette#1...
Easyjet fly Bristol to Glasgow.

Bram...
Hey ! Boo-ette Pet! You don't fancy organizing a meeting place for us in
dear ol' Glasgae do ya..? Just needs to be somewhere very central, sells
real ale and does good but reasonable food on a Saturday. I'm sure the Boyf
will love testing the ale for us.

:-)

It's got to be somewhere that doesn't get crammed with fitba' supporters
till after one. We can nick off somewhere else after that.

For more info..
My email addyy is gen. Just remove all crosses before sending :-)

Booette#1...
House in George Square or Waxy O'Connor's on West George street would be
good. They are in between the two train stations and near the Buchanan
street for the shoppers amongst you. As far as we know neither have music
piped in and are a fair size, they both do food and have real ale according
to a web search I did.
I think the Counting House is part of the Wetherspoons chain but is not the
usual type of bar they own, quite nice and I know that Boo likes it in

Bram...
Hi Booette. Waxy o Conners looks good but it doesn't open till 12.00.
The Counting House would be a better choice as it opens at 10.00 am and we'd
get sorted and settled earlier. If we get settled earlier, people can nick
off and do shopping stuff and go for a deep fried Mars Bar, etc.

..and if it it's ok for Boo then it'll be ok for us.

Right. Now we need some people in Scottieland to arrange a date and are
definately going to be there to meet the folk who are coming.

:-)

Come on. Look! I've started the ball rolling! It's up to you now if you
want a meet!
:-)

Faolan...
You can count me in, depending on dates and commitments ;)

Bram...
.. and a few others including me.
:-)

Foxy at w**k...
Providing I can get the time off and Westie is available

Bram...
Time off.?

It'll be Saturday like they all are!

Foxy at w**k...
Well I will be staying up there Friday evening and probably Saturday
evening Bram. I think it's too far just to go for the day

Bram...
????

It's the same distance as London!!!

Troy's Human...
I thought what rubbish and so checked it on a map.

You're right Bram :-))

Bram...
Ye of little faith!

... of course I'm right!

Nor...
Ok, I could try to organise a meet in Glasgow, if folks want to stay in same
hotel, but it won't be till March/April and I would need a commitment from
at least 10 folks to try to get good price from hotel.

Bram...
Some said April suited them. Can't remember who
I dunno if I am staying all weekend yet. I was just going to come for the
day but we'll see. Id the hotel is cheap enough I may be persuaded to stay.

I dunno about which places sell real ale.......but I know loads o' Glesgae
folks who should do lol
The Horseshoe bar is a good place to visit, and the Attache......and a few
others I have visited lol
Noreen

Bram...
Well the meeting place Booette suggested seems ok. We can take it from
there.

... or you can just direct us to the Off-licence ;-)

there.

Booette#1...
about organising it though, but happy to make suggestions, don't do
organising me! You might be best to check that there's not an old firm game
on the weekend that you are planning.

Bram...
Yep! That is probably the best idea.

What's all this about a boyf then? ;-)

Bram...
What...? No Boyf on the scene..? Lovely looking lass like you..?

Play your cards right and you could be taking me for lunch in your lovely
City.
:-)

Faolan...
You may have competition for the fair ladies hand ;)

Bram...
Pistols at dawn, then..?

Foxy at w**k...
Well I would love a Noft Meet Bram but not till March / April time

Bram...
I was thinking when the weather got warmer as well.

There's no way they can follow a winter meet like the one we just held.
;-)

There's probably no way they can get any meet together anyway.
;-)

Pam the goose...
Make it April and it's possible we'll be up there with our
caravan - not that we're offering catering for so many,
though:)))

Bram...
That would be good! All we need now is someone to do the organizing.

Faolan...
Straight up the M6/M74...

Can't miss it even if you tried lol ;)

Bram...
I'll be on the train. I'll be having a wee drinkie I think.
:-)

Faolan...
Basket hilt broadsword and targe ;)

Bram...
Black Puddings!!
