No need to apologise Len, this is of interest to many in here ( including
me ) Thanks for the update.
Hope you are both keeping well.

believe it or not started just over 3 years ago when i noticed she had
gone yellow, she was just about 3 years old. Her skin was a toal colour,
ears, inside her mouth, belly and so on. The vet referred her to The

Bristol University Training Veterinary School and diagnostic centre.
They kept her in and did a liver biopsy and other tests and told me she
had Hepatitus they were so sorry but just take her home and enjoy the
time left. Since then Vets bills have come to just about £8000 (on
insurance thank goodness) and as far as i am concerned i will do
whatever it takes to look after and as long as she is not in distress of
any kind.
Langford took a history of her pedigree and other details.
Today i had a phone call from Langford asking about Meg and her
current details, we know she has only 2cm of Liver left.
They told me that in English Springer Spaniels they have seen a lot now
with Liver problems mostly in the Working strain not the show strain and
females and are still trying to get to the bottom of it. They confirmed
that other caretakers of the dogs say they are always ravenous for some
reason.
They asked if it was ok for The English Springer Health Committee could
contact me aand of course i agreed

Interesting post Len, I hope that the English Spring Health Committee
discover why this is happening to the females in the breed and can find a
way of preventing it in the future.

Thanks for that Len. We all know why Meg continues to successfully fight the
desease, not withstanding the vets efforts of course, and that is your love
and kindness. It may well bet that Megs story may lead to treatment
developments, lets hope so.

Someday, hopefully a long , long time from now, you will be able to think
back to this and be so proud that Meg has helped others. For now, its
great that she is happy and with you.
