Gizmo...
Don't use your tongue as live bait - it just doesn't w*rk

FN apologises for the quality - that d****d phone again.
The upgrade he ordered went out of stock and is now discontinued. :(

Frogman...
The story of my life, if something can go wrong it usually does :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Murphy's law, renamed by us at Uni back in 1960 as Jim Carter's rule - he
was president of the students' union at the time. It's one of those
constant laws of physics. :(

If he caught one Mike he wouldn't know what to do with it.
Now a tin opener - that would be different, he'd be rubbing round my ankles
for a meal.

mothy...
I'm enjoying the your wide variety of X-Faces Val :-)

Aries...
neither am I but between us we should be able to help a newbie :)

Frogman...
Yes I was only joking we both seem to have discovered quite a lot of
the learning curve recently.

Aries...
I certainly have - been looking into all the preferences and options etc.
And it's quite a fun newsreader really, I enjoy using it lol

Frogman...
Yes it's not as configurable as Gravity but is much more fun to use
with the smiley's,Faces and X-Faces.

I have to go now but should be back on later.

Aries...
what is it you'd like to see configured ?

Frogman...
I would like an incoming filter on the BODY of messages to flag when a
certain word appears in an unrelated post,
for example if you posted a message with the subject "It's hot today"
and then in the body wrote, "yes it's hot today I wonder if froggie is
in his pond"
In Messy I wouldn't see it but in Gravity It would be marked because it
had the word "froggie" in the body and I could go straight to the
message.

Hope that makes some sense.

Aries...
makes perfect sense but as far as I know you cannot do it in Messy ?

Frogman...
No you can't that's why Gareth and myself asked Arnaud (the creator of
the program) if it would be possible in the next version.

Aries...
yes I remember - hopefully he will take note

Aries...
When they appear ! I didn't realise you could see them ?

mothy...
I'm using Thunderbird with an X-face viewer plugged in. Sadly, I don't
think I can send my own though, they do seem great fun, especially now
that they are appearing in glorious technicolour too. :-)

Ali...
If you can add a custom header, you can send an X-Face.

mothy...
I've just installed an extension to Thunderbird to customise headers but
I don't see any way of using it to send an X-face it only seems to allow
me to visualise those sent with messages. But I've been able to do that
for a while now anyway.

Ali...
picture) into a text string, starting 'X-Face:'. Then use the string as a
custome header. Quite possibly you won't see the X-Face until you've
posted it and read it back from the server.

I've got MesNews on this computer too and I know I can use that but I
never felt comfortable with MesNews. I'll keep digging around with
Thundebird.
