DSL Max

I've just noticed our exchange is scheduled to have DSL Max fitted in
March 2006, astonishing as ADSL was only fitted just over a year ago!

Is anybody using it or is it too early? I've had a bit of a web-search but
cannot find any distance/speed tables, I'm on 1Mbps ATM due to distance

It seems to be an adaptive rate ADSL, i.e. adapts to give best speed
available, but couldn't find much more.

No doubt shortly after GCHQ pick up cloaking activity on their radar we
can expect a definitive response :-)

That rather depends on GCHQ having the correct time / thread continuum
on operational standby. De-cloaking can sometimes foul things up when
performed at inappropriate times, causing the digit-brain matrix to
perform a cock up.

Apart from that I guess you will, like me, be too far away from the
exchange to benefit.
The cost of living in a rural area I spose.

The BT default date for my exchange to enable DSL max is 31/03/2006, but
they warn this date might change.

On the basis of the graph I should be able to get 4Mbps currently - but
BT say 1 Mbps only :-(

Your 4mbps will only be available when ADSL Max is rolled out, which ISP
are you with at the moment?

My router shows attenuation of 41.5dB at the moment but BT's database
only allows me 1Mbps. I'm with Demon who play by the book. My 12 months
contract is up now so when DSL Max is installed may be a good time to
consider a change.

I guess time will tell.
