Morning all
Don't seem to have much time to play in here at the minute - being kept
busy :-))
Yesterday we were playing in animation shop. Then we had a visit from
daughter's Godparents (haven't seen them for 7 years)
Noreen's last day today so we have a lot to fit in

A bit milder here in Duchess Camillaland but still not time to get the
shorts out.

It is still rather grey here but it wasn't that bad when I was out early
this morning.

It's grey, it's dull, it's dreich here and a bit on the damp chilly side.
The sky looks as if it holds a whole lot of wet stuff but so far none has
fallen, oh I lie I've just seen a few small drops on the window but I think
they arrived with the gust of wind we just had, rather than falling right
here. It's not really windy out there but every now and again there is a
gust. Don't think it will be long though till the real wet tuff arrives.

It's called getting laid off. The whole department's off. We don't have
enough wxrk. I'm not complaining though. Got a few jobs to do and that.

I don't. I want my redundancy and they won't give me it. My 20 years
service is the only thing that's stopped me leaving! The pay used to be
good there but now it's awful and they want you to wxrk harder and harder
for less and less and they treat you like dirt. I'd like my redundancy and
wouldn't mind doing something lighter for a little less money. I have asked
to be made redundant twice in the last two years when they have wanted
volunteers, but it's cheaper to make redundant someone who has been there
less than five years than it is to make redundant someone like me who has

I know what you mean Bram I was lucky to get early retirement because
computers were coming in
I had done 17 years, I had asked about retiring earlier but the pay-off was
very low but by going when they wanted it improved lots, so I was lucky.

No. you have can only claim so much lay off pay in so many weeks. Dunno if
we'll get that this time. If we get it this time then we won't get it next
time. It's ok. I think of it as a sickie. :-)

Hi Mike, hi everybody,
Not so cold here in London, no sun and the clouds look quite solid at
present - wonder if the sun is anywhere up there hiding today!
Am sorting some spreadsheets of accounts before I get ready to go to w**k -
then I can put them on a disc and print them there - norty I know, but
quicker too ;)

I am just cooking my Son's and mine Dinner...Hot mashed Potatoes, Salad and
dressings, and a big 'juicy' steak each...LOL Temps have been rather high
here again today ..mid 30's...I am 'sloshing ' a glass of 'Champies' down
whilst waiting for the 'Spuds' to cook !.. 8:42 PM Monday evening here in

I used to be an Industrial Chemist ...Retired many years ago now (88) to
raise little 'Urchins' to adulthood !.. Now I am treated as the Child ...I
am now Chief 'Babysitter' to my youngest Granddaughter !... I love it ..
:-))... I also have my (nearly) 24 year old Son as well !...He is far more
trouble than the younger one's though !!
