It topped 100 degrees today in New England: We've had this

Pheeew! Wouldn't like that
|
oppressive heat for about 4 days. It's breaking Friday & I can't
wait. Sea is in the same boat. :( How in blazes do these old geezers
from Northern America move to Florida? Are they nuts. How"s the
Rabbit...
|
My friends ( both old and young ) when they moved to Florida ( mostly from
Colorado and Maryland) had bother adapting to the heat the first year but by
the second year they were feeling it cold in the Florida winter. The ones
from Colorado though also had to adapt to living at sea level after growing
up a mile above sea level.

______________________
I don't get it, Sandra. My son-in-law's mom & dad sold a beautiful
home on the waters of New England Sound to move to Florida. Every
summer they are back in Connecticut. We have four seasons. Our
winters are mild & I love the change. Beautiful Fall & Spring come around
& I look forward to the seasons. I've been South in fact I was stationed in
Georgia as a kid. It was long ago & nasty weather along with segregation
tossed in made the South on my list of places I dislike. I'll give you an
example
of weather I like. My trip to Scotland, your little place on this earth, was
terrific.
I'll refrain from repeating myself from old posts but just say I liked the
weather. It
was damp a few days but even as a young man I remember telling my friend
this is the place I could stay. Wales was a favorite of mine & the area
around my
base (Fairford) was beautiful. Lots of fog in those days with plenty of
rain. I
wouldn't trade a thousand southern states for an inch of Great Britain.
That's why
I live in New England.

weather in your neck of the woods?

I'm here in New England also, and it was 102 degrees today! We did
have a thunderstorm tonight, so it seems a bit cooler?! As you said,
no real long term break in the temp until weeks end. Just hoping we
don't lose power!!
Florida temperatures can be severe, but every business, home, car, etc.
is air conditioned. I guess if I were to relocate to Florida I would
travel north for the summer, and head back to Florida during the winter
(snow bird).

LOL!!!
Do you mean to say, John, that you haven't seen all the complaining
we have all (apart from Boo, cos she's weird & seems to like it)
doing about this horrible, yukky, oppressively, sticky, hot & humid,
muggy Weather???

Sheesh!!!
Only 75 - 85 Degrees?
We've been getting it (down here) over 85 Degrees & on several days
well into the 90's!!!
:-(
& several Nights have been over 70 Degrees (outside) at 3 or 4 in
the Morning!!!
& that's *on top* of the general humidity & mugginess, even when
the actual temperature isn't that high.
|
nothing but sit inside the house in front of a fan - it's all changed.

Last 2 days it's been raining - high today of 60°F. I've done nothing but

Anita...
|
Hey, pass some of that rain down this way, please - pretty please ;)
Troy's Human...
|
I wish I could Anita :-)
I took the dogs walking at midday-ish today and we got a little rain on our
way back - nothing much. Got home and then it started - 6 hours of it.
Nothing like as heavy as we've had it for the last couple of days but that
only lasted for minutes. Today it lasted forever. Needed though :-)
A couple of evenings ago we were sitting with my neighbour in his gazebo -
Me, Neighbour, Bobbie and Ben. Suddenly a storm started - rain/wind coming
in one side of the gazebo. We had no time to get back to our houses and so
tried to get to the dry side of the gazebo - no chance - Ben had got onto
the seat and curled himself up just like a cat :-) Ben hates rain and wind.
We got wet - Ben stayed dry :-) Bobbie didn't really care - she got a
little wet.

The ground is so hard here FN or Delboy is getting lazy so he has used his
litter tray
at night!!! grrrrrrrrr usually perhaps once a year!!
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...

Not here. I think Gizmo takes advantage of all those other lazy gardeners
who put down wood chippings and loose fancy gravel. :)
