I find I cannot play music CD's now on my PC. I put a disc in and nothing
happens whereas usually my Windows Media Player would start and they would
play, nowadays nothing happens when the CD is inserted (have tried several)
I open Media Player but still nothing happens.
I have been to Programme access Defaults and have windows media player
ticked. Some time ago I installed Musicmatch and I believe that has taken
over.
I have been to Control Panel - Add or Remove programmes to try and delete
musicmatch but I cannot do it I get a box come up :
close down but it won't delete.

That is not a programme, it's a bitmap picture ( .bmp )

That bmp is what showed when I tried to delete musicmatch in Add or Delete
in Control Panel BoyPete
but Boo has now solved the problem for me. Thanks.

So right! Can we have something more interesting in jpeg please Jackie..?
A picture of a couple of Bikini clad girls or something..?

All sorted now Bram, that bitmap I showed is what came up in Add and Remove
when I tried to get rid of Musicmatch.
I bet you know more web sites for bikini clad girls than I would Bram, much
more interesting too!!!

All my other computer sounds are o.k. and any midi tunes I play from my
Favourites.
I even did a system restore back several days but it did not help.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jackie, if you can still open and run Music Match , have a look in the
settings ( my version has it in Options:settings) and untick anything that
says make this the default player for.. various types of sound file etc.
Apply the changes and close it down.
Now open Media Player and look at the tools options and tick whatever file
types/ things like cds you want it to be the default player for. Apply
those changes and close it down.
Now try bunging in a cd and see if its fixted

Aw!! thank you Boo, I just clicked on the musicmatch icon and selected `file
associations` and took all the ticks out and it played straight away in
windows media player.
Went to Add and Delete to try and take musicmatch out but still get that
message but as long as my windows media player works I don't mind.
Thank you so much for your speedy reply, one `happy Jackie`.

LOL you hit lucky, I had switched the pc on to check my mail and peeked in
here. I do know little bits about some stuff, so could help :-) Glad you
got it sorted.

If you cant remove this programme - try this excellent programme:
it is a programme that allows you to remove unwanted stuff that otherwise
wont go away - even if you use add and remove programmes in windows XP.
I downloaded a free trial and liked it so much I bought it.
