Happy birthday to youngest. How did the ring saga pan out ? If it's sorted
are you going to tell us what it's like or even let us see a piccy please?
|
couple of days off w**k so will be here this morning to open her cards
etc. then is heading off to her fiancé's house where about 10 of her
friends will be gathering for a party
She doesn't intend missing out on the family birthday meal though and
has suggested we have that next weekend :-))

Hi Barb, hi all,
Morning (or early afternoon) from a dull corner of London. Grey clouds here
and cold! We had sleet from about 8.40am until about 11.55am - tried its
hardest to snow, but has given up and all is dry and grey out there.

There was a heavy frost here by 05-00 - Gizmo didn't like it one bit.
By 06-30 it was melting quickly - 'cos it had started raining - still is -
hasn't stopped since then, so the old wooden clothes horse is warming it's
toes (and the washing) by the gas fire in the dining room.
Anita Carter...
|
Oh my tumble dryer is working away - such a relief to have too - even saves
a lot of ironing which I hate doing lol
Well, it was dry out - now it is raining, not heavey but definitely raining
|
Anita Carter...
|
Been out shopping - bought three of those new extra mini enery saving
lamps,
|
|
Don't think I will bother to go out today, have ordered my groceries online
from Sainsburys - so no need to venture out.

Been out shopping - bought three of those new extra mini enery saving lamps,
among other things. Checked them when I got home and one wouldn't light -
back to the shop this afternoon. Well I suppose I do need the exercise.
:(
Anita Carter...
|
We have those lamps in all our downstairs rooms, so have 9 in use and it is
weird how dull they are when you switch on - but they do appear to work well
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
|
Yes they do take a little time to reach full efficacy. The ones I bought
are replacements, and are extra small. Called Extra Mini and made by GE of
America. They will be more suitable in conventional fittings, since the
standard ones are somewhat longer than the pear shaped tungsten filament
lamps. They do an 11 Watt (equivalent light output to an ordinary 60W), a
20W (equivalent to a 100W) and now a 23W (equivalent to 2 x 60W) quoted life
is 15,000 hours compared to the normal 1000 hours for a GLS lamp.
Anita Carter...
|
Mine are the larger ones - I have not seen the smaller ones round here -
will have to have another look.
btw the rain has now turned back into sleet !

Good morning Barb and very Happy Birhday wishes to your Daughter and I hope
she has a lovely day.
February is a very popular month for birthdays, I have to send 8 birthday
cards during this month!!

Damp and grey here but bright enough all things considered, quite mild too
with no wind.
Good morning one and all.
|
Hope you are all well.
Enjoyed myself with the grandbairns in Truro yesterday. Surprisingly they
didn't want to go shopping but instead wanted to visit the Royal Cornwall
Museum. Lots of gruesome objects in there to see :-)
Rabbit...
|
Oh yes and I wonder how much persuation grandpa took to change the plans,
that is if he didn't sow the seeds of doubt in the first place :-)
MCC...
|
Nothing to do with me! It's what the girls wanted to do, and on their day
out, that's what matters to me.
|
|
jackie...
|
Good morning Mike, I expect you enjoyed the Museum rather than the shopping.
I think it is about time you had your bacon butty - is the man there at this
time of the year? We have an ice-cream van on our seafront everyday, even in
winter so perhaps yours is similar, I often wonder if they have a contract
that they must `be there`or lose the spot???
Dry here so far today but I think more rain is on its way.
Enjoy your day.
MCC...
|
The chap is there every day of the year except for about a fortnight around
Christmas and the New Year.
There's always an ice-cream van on the opposite side of the car park too.
Some days I don't think they can cover their costs, but they persevere.
I'm sure other traders would be happy to take the pitches off their hands
if they decided to pack in.
There was a burger van in Focus Do-it-All's car park adjacent to Tesco's
this morning, as there is most days. Didn't fancy anything from them
though.
|
|
Rumour has it we are visiting Tesco's today :-(
I have tried suggesting to SWMBO that she shop on-line. She wouldn't hear
of it because she might miss some of the BOGOF offers!
Rabbit...
|
And doing it online Mrs MCC wouldn't get to share the delights of Tesco with
you, it's a bonding experience she wants :-)
MCC...
|
I'm not so sure about the bonding experience It's a huge store so I
tend to head towards the TVs, computers and other electrical items while
she does the boring bit among the food aisles.
|
|
Aries...
|
morning Mike, you tell SWMBO that the Tesco online site is very clear on
showing what the BOGOF offers are as I shopped that way this week and got
some super bargains :dancing:
Bright and calm here but have no idea what the temp is but no sign of any
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
|
Almost a warm 3°C here right now. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
Ponder...
|
1 here and light snow.
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
|
Still rain here - feels like iced water - - - - - well I suppose it is. :)
|
|
|
jackie...
|
Good morning Val, Whenever I have used Tesco online I still found the BOGOFS
o.k.
Not very bright here but it is dry after all the rain we have been having
and the forcast is for very cold easterly winds, Brrrrrrr!
|
frost :)
noreen...
|
Morning Val , got a shock when i looked out side earlier, it has snowed,
but very icy too ,
but going now with the rain ;-))))))
|
|
It seems a long time since I had a bacon butty on Pendennis Point. I shall
have to remedy matters forthwith :-)
Rabbit...
|
Definitely a matter of urgency, the poor guy's profits will be way down this
year :-)
MCC...
|
No chance today so I have decided to have a BLT sarnie for my tea :-)
Rabbit...
|
Oh good taste, I love a BLT. You've put me in the notion for one now for my
tea :-)
|
Now shall I have mayonnaise on the L & T as well as HP sauce on the bacon?
Rabbit...
|
Extra light Helman's ( it doesn't taste any less tasty than the ordinary
stuff to me ) then you can splash out on the HP :-)
|
Foxy at w**k...
|
Hmmmm I think I would do one *or* the other Mike
|
|
|
Have a good day.
biggeordie...
|
Have a nice day everyone.
jackie...
|
Good morning Biggeordie - keep warm!I think we have very cold winds here
still.
noreen...
