Rome update

Rome.
Wow - what a place !!!

Rabbit...

Welcome home John. Glad you had such a good time. You do know though it's
customary ( nay, mandatory :-) ) to return from a jolliday with pressies and
piccies for us :-)

The weather was fantastic although we did have one storm which was a real
cracker but soon blew its self out !!
We visited all the major sites such as St. Peters square -the Vatican and of
course the Capella Cistina where Mike Angelo practiced paining on the
ceiling so's no one could spot his mistakes !!! The colosseum is gigantic

Thankyou for bringing back such wonderful memories of a place I visited
quite a few years ago. I agree about the colosseum and would add pisa`s
tower too to the list as visiting that was awesome too. :-)

No, it's far too modern!

on the list ? How on earth did they manage to build something so big and so
perfectly round ? The pantheon was very nice - and so tranquil - Ahh - I am

Round is easy - stick a stake in the ground in the middle, attach a piece of
string, and keep taut while marking out the circle. Then build on the marked
line.

"overwhelmed" - I could go on and on for hours and hours....
We cant wait to visit again - and we will too - cos we did what all the
other tourists were doing and stood at the Trevi Fountain and threw three
coins in - so we are sure to return !!!!

Wonderful, John! Have you met my sister yet? She's still in Italy. (g)
Glad to hear you're having a good time. How are you managing
to get your messages onto the Internet? Are you using an
Internet Cafe? My sister has had trouble using her laptop in Italy.
She hasn't sent any emails at all. I miss her.
