I am sorry I made a mistake, the big fish is not a guppy but a carp, trust
me ! Doh!!!

We all make mistakes don't we, I thought a Guppy was a tropical fish
cos we had loads in out tanks years ago;-)))))

Lovely pictures, Jackie and the new pond looks very nice. The fish seem
happy to be there. Not like when I built my new pond - some years ago -
and Norman one of the original fishes kept going back to the old pond!

|
The fish seem to be settling down Barb but the seagulls can see them better
now and have been scaring the fish,
Our Manager has put lines of wire across the pond now to stop the gulls
flying so low over the pond.
Del-boy is supposed to be Chief Seagull scarer but he is failing in his duty
and just laying there watching them!!!
Ours is a completely new pond and the fish were put in a large paddling pool
while construction went ahead.

A lovely job - nice to have on your doorstep.
Those are the original fish I guess?
Jackie...
|
The original fish Russell, over 200 of them. There is a very large Guppy in
there but he hides away most of the time, he is over 10 years old.

That is a lot of fish!!
We cleared a small pond out here on the property and foundf loads of
goldfish of various ages - also about 20 Yabbies(small Crayfish) - that was
fun pulling them out with tongs.
We gave them all to a local chap with a pond.
We have a little fountain coming out of a huge glazed pot with pebbles
underneath now.
The pond was a risk for any little kids we had visiting.
|
I asked the Pond men why we did not get frogs - they said the Guppy eats

LOL
I thought Guppys were tropical fish - I know they are hardy though.I did
breed them at one time :-)

This one is an ugly so and so, he eats all the weed in the pond.
It would be nice to have a little fountain, its up to Management!!!this pond
has cost £3,000

Nice and clear now FN, it has six filters in there.

Give the fish a chance to start depositing what they do and see how good
those filters are.

making it :)

The pond is much better now Val but I think it takes a time for the fish to
settle.

They did the job in about 3 days Anita in the blazing heat, they were very
good workmen.
