Lovely and I think Mrs MCC must write a gardening page for one of the

How beautiful! I think I recognize some yellow and orange
gallardia and I see some roses and also some beach grass.
What are the names of the other flowers are in the garden,
esp. the purple vine-like one? I'm sure she puts a lot of
time and work into this garden. It's so lovely. Do you help,
Mike? What's your job in the garden?
I've been enjoying working in the garden this year, but
I've been neglecting the inside of the house. (g) Oh, well.
There's plenty of time for that when winter comes. :-(
Thanks for piccies... they are excellent.

No gallardia that I'm aware of, Sea. I think you probably mean the
Montbretia - grows like a weed! There are lots of Dahlias too.
The purple vine one is a clematis - don't know the variety.
I'm occasionally allowed to water, other than that I play no part in the
garden.

Saturday supplements 'cos today there was an article about orange toned
borders with hints of other colours. Apparently that's the *in* colour this
year.

Thanks, Mike. I found URLs for Montbretia and Gallardia.
Montbretia:
Gallardia:
Gallardia grows like a weed too. Best thing about it is that it's
a perennial which blooms all summer. It seems to be very hardy.
Thanks for naming the clematis. It's very pretty.
Your watering of the garden is important and very helpful.
I spend lots of time watering my potted plants.
I use a moisture meter to see which potted plants need watering.
See photo of a moisture meter at:

Believe me, nothing is planned in that garden. Plants get put in wherever
there's a space that needs filling. No thought is given to colour
co-ordination or anything else like that :-)

There you are Mrs MCC is ahead of the game and didn't even know it :-)

Very nice. Hose pipe ban here so everything in my garden is slowly
losing the fight for survival.
MCC...
|
We don't have a hosepipe ban here, John, so I've been giving it a thorough
soak once a week and a feed with Phostrogen.

And very nice too, but where's all the bracken and wildflowers Mike :)
MCC...
|
Just for you, FN, I've added a fourth photo of the patch at the side of the
house. You'll have to make do with a clump of ferns in front of the shed
:-)
The leaves on the grass are from Mrs NextDoor's silver birch which is
losing leaves because of the drought.
Rabbit...
|
Hey Mrs MCC get your labourer out there sweeping up those leaves :-)
MCC...
|
They've actually gone now - got gathered up when SWMBO mowed the lawn :-))

Note to Mrs MCC. In the end of summer sales at B&Q etc buy Mike a garden vac
for his C******s pressie. He'll be volunteering to hoover up everything next
year ;-)

*WRONG*
Rabbit...
|
Oh no if you got a garden vac as a pressie you would have to show your
appreciation by using it. 'Sides they are quite fun to use, not quite as
much as a power hose though :-)

They seem a bit limited Mike. Dosn't SWMBO allow them a bit of freedom to
spread about a bit? :)

Give 'em a chance! They're only just over a year old.
