Garlic - did you know

that if you pop a clove or two of garlic in the microwave on full power for
no more than 10 seconds they become *very* easy to peel.
And no! Your microwave does not smell of garlic for days afterwards :-))

Yes, I knew that! I remember the chef Rick Stein visiting there and getting
served garlic-flavoured icecream. To say he didn't like it was an
under-statement :-))

I'm going to be using some garlic this evening so I'll give it a try -
not that I have any problem peeling them anyhow.

I'm using garlic in my pasta sauce tonight so I will be trying this tip

Hmmm, if I'd have thought ahead I could've tried it with the shallots
that I've just peeled. :-)

I used to grow the pink shallots where we lived before. I used to save
bulbs from one year to the next - very good they were in sauces and stuff

Yup, these were purple... I chopped up four of them.
Oh, I just tried two large garlic cloves and they did peel easier after
being topped and tailed.
