Looking out of my window it's like a scene out of Day after Tomorrow. I
have a snow drift that's just below my window sill.... My Car has ceased
to exist under a pile of snow!

Shades of 1947 then?

I remember it being what must have been around 6' high between our's and 'er
next door's house. :)

I remember a BIG snow, taller than me as a school girl but 1947 is too
early I think it must have been something like 1962, as I was about 8 at
the time

Like this, the winter of 62/63, somewhere on the North Yorks Moors.

I remember it well too. I was in South Kensington - final year at
Imperial College. We were skating on the Round Pond in Kensington Gardens
and the Serpentine in Hyde Park right up to April.

The Holland Club? thats what it was called when I used to visit my friends
at Imperial college.

Didn't know that other than it could have been a group who lived in the
Holland Park area. I spent a term there in 1963. The most important one
we lads knew or were interested in was ICWA - which had a very small
selective membership. (Imperial College Womens' Association - well there
were very few girls taking science and technology in those days) :)

LOL! The holland club is the pub/club based within the grounds of the
college, and is mostly for post Grad staff. I have a friend that became a
supervisor during his final time there. He has now moved on and works in a
big financial organisation in the city.

Oh I was expecting piccies :-( You take care on those roads up there.
Faolan...
|
Oh I have been dancing on the roads already. Aberdeen itself is pretty
much a no go zone with trucks/buses having trouble navigating hills!
Rabbit...
|
Must be really bad then. When my sister stayed there ( Well Ellon but she
jbexed in Aberdeen) she always admired the way they managed to keep the
roads clear, the pavements too for that matter. It was the first time she
had seen a pavement snowplough :-)
|
Shots will follow later... Got a volunteer to play in the snow
Rabbit...
|
Oh yeah ???? I hope she has more clothes on than in the last piccies you
posted here ;-) ;-)
|
Got some from yesterday but it's a nightmare getting anywhere to get
some shots... However I will attempt it today!

Essentially the North East of Scotland is essentially snow bound. This
is the worst I have seen it for a long time.

I read in the press that Altmaharra had -16C the lowest temperature in
Britain this winter.

The good news I won a bet for saying that March would be when we get hit!

Down here in my corner of London, the sun is still shining brightly and it
is not cold out there !
Only a slight frost last night on the roofs of the cars, none on the ground.
