Irfanvew

Now why is my Irfanview suddenly started showing saved pictures in black
and white - what have a done that I shouldn't have done I wonder ?

Check your Properties from Option on the menu bar or just hit the letter
P on the keyboard.

Check on the JPG/PCD/GIF tab that the checkbox for "Load as Grayscale"
isn't checked off.

Maybe cos one of the Options (in IrfanView>Menu>Options>Properties)
or in the "Save As..." Dialog Box Options has been set to Save Pics
in GreyScale?

It's one of the Options in IrfanView - you must have accidentally/
unwittingly Enabled the Option - just go through all the various
Options (in the IrfanView Menu>Options>Properties...) & UnTick the
one that is labelled "Load as Greyscale" - That's on the "JPG/PCD/GIF"
Tab (it does have in Brackets, after it - "(please REMEMBER when you
Activate this Option)"

Yes and I remember it too but this time I do not hae the option enabled
load a greyscale - it is unticked! So what is causing this to happen this
time, that is what I was wondering.

There's also an Option in IrfanView (in the Save Dialog Box [Options]
Button) to *Save* as GreyScale as well, but that's a different Option -
the first one applies when you *Load* Images - any Image - & the 2nd
one applies when you *Save* them.
