Good morning from Cornwall on this fine but cool Bank Holiday Monday.

Good morning....and to everyone else.... Again it is a fine sunny start
here but how long it will last is anyones guess.

When I opened the blinds this morning the BYT was shining on what had
obviously been recent wet stuff. When I went out a little later to the
wheelie bin the heat hit me as I walked out the door, however when I turned
the corner there was a chill in the air. Not long after that GFTs arrived so
I went out dressed for a chill. I had to turn on the air con in the car.
Although there were lots of GFTs about it was very warm, surprisingly so for
a Bank Holiday. It's till close out there but that breeze has just arrived
so it's not quite as warm as earlier.Arran is looking beautiful and clear,
there's wet stuff on part of it but the BYT is shining on Brodick and you
can actually make out the buildings. When I came down the hill there was a
yacht in front of it and it would have made a beautiful piccy of
tranquillity if I had my camera with me and if I could have stopped just at
the right spot :-)

BYT is risen nicely here and shining happily, hope it keeps like that!

We have BYT, temp about 12°C (54°F), humidity down to about 55%, so I
think I'll go ant try to de-codensify tha headlight assembly on the car, by
sucking the drier air thtough it using the vacuum cleaner. Byee!! For a

Got everything w*rking fine The condensation appeared to be disappearing
slowly bu t surely. Then guess what. A big black cloud came over and we
had a cloud burst. So much for the dry air. Will have to continue the

Managed to get another ½ hour w*rking on the headlamp assembly this
afternoon. For those interested in the technique I used, here it is:
1 Removed both headlamp and sidelight bulb from the H/L assembly
2 fitted mains vacuum cleaner hose attachment into the S/L bulb hole
3 switched on vacuum cleaner and placed folded clean handkerchief over H/L
bulb hole
Objective of handkerchief was to restrict the air flow so that a partial
vacuum would be set up within the assembly to aid evaporation of any water
within it. Seemed to w*rk after about 20 minutes, when all signs of
condensation on the inner surface of the H/L lens had disappeared. Kept vac
on for another 10 minutes to ensure all (hopefully) water droplets within
the unit had been evaporated and sucked out by the vac.
4 Left the unit with both bulbs removed so that air could circulate for a
couple of hours. Since my outdoor hygrometer was reading only 52% I
reckoned that it would be beneficial.
5 Replaced both bulbs and checked that the rubber breather pipe on the back
of the assembly wasn't blocked. Will now hope that the condensation hasn't
returned by morning. If it has I'll be completely baffled.

Not going very far Jackie ! it is a bit drier now but buses are infrequent
so will catch
up on some DVDs i have had bought but not got round to watching ;-))
