Generally, when there's all that "Event" Info about the Error
specified, they would be expected to come up with *some* thing
of relevance...
Even if it then means you have to go & do more Looking up & Searching.

:-( but it is happening very often. He reinstalled the OS XPpro recently
for a slow unresponsive problem with crashes.

What else did he Install, along with the Operating System?
There must be *something* on his machine, other than the stuff
that gets Installed by the OS, that is causing that Error.

Sorry I haven't got any other bright (or Helpful) Ideas on it at
the mo, without more Info about it.

You are right of course he did install other stuff and i would have
hoped the error message would have led to finding the rascal, but thats
MS :(
