Power Cuts in London

The BBC inform us that the reason for the power cuts in London is due to
'increased demand'

Does not sound good - just imagine being in those high glass buildings
without
air conditioning - phew!!

Or has everyone gone out and bought air con? Even if they had and bought
fans, I don't believe summer electricity usage is higher than Winter.

Heating usually uses gas, oil or coal. It's air conditioning that uses
electricity which explains the problem.

Just another lame excuse from the power companies (IMHO).

I dumped British Gas and Powergen ages ago. I went instead to a not-for-
profit supplier with an ethical policy and ended up paying a lot less.

It really does pay to shop around.

btw - all the increased charges on electricity/Gas Bills. I had a 'nice'
Letter from a Mr Scottish Power saying they owed me money and my Direct
Debit was reducing from Ł80 per month to Ł56 ye ha!

used them for a while now, I like the way they work and they don't=20
charge standing charges or penalise people on prepayment schemes.
