It's good to have somewhere to go and sit in remembrance of those passed on.
My parents ashes are interred - if that's the correct terminilogy - in our
Cathedral crypt. I frequently go and sit in there for a few minutes quiet
thoughts when I'm in the city.

When you feel the need you can always visit again.

As I looked at the pictures I too thought I wonder how many other parents
were in the same situation

Well I'm glad about that, at least you know it was marked. Not what you want
but better than unmarked.

As the baby didn't officially have a name, it was just marked with
surname and plot number.

Still better IMHO than no marking. So sad that in those days they didn't
like today, have special places in the local cemeteries for those special
babies like they have today.

Allthough still unofficial we named him long ago "David"

It'll be good to give him his proper name, and I am so glad you now have
that opportunity.

It will be good to have a marker for your little David... a proper place
for him to rest and for you to picture when you need to. I hope today you
feel reassured about it all. It is so sad that there must be many in a
similar situation and may never find out.
