frogman...
The assets of 19 people held on suspicion of plotting to blow up
passenger planes have been frozen. Their details appeared on the Bank
of England's website at:
ce060811.pdf>

Anita...
Their details have been put in the newspapers and the tv - and BEFORE TH
says anything - yes I do know that most of the suspects are from
Walthamstow!!

David C...
Another reason why we left E17?

(It's not that the natives were unfriendly, they were no longer the
natives I'd grown-up with.)

Anita...

Smokey...
Keep your eyes open Anita, be alert :-))

Anita...
Oh I am, Smokey and always will be :)

pmj...
Yep!
The world needs more lerts!
:-)
Yes, I am afraid the 'village' atmosphere has gone as it has grown more
cosmopolitan - although in my little corner of the borough, it does
still exist to some extent :)

David C...
I'll admit to growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, ( Wood
Street, close to the engine sheds!), but Upper Walthamstow, the Forest
& Walthamstow Villiage were pleasant areas to visit.
High Street Market was always fun, but without today's variety.

Today, house prices are ridiculous, car-parking impossible & the whole
area now seems too crowded.
Perhaps I've lived in the "country" too long?

David C.

Anita...
I live in the Chingford end of the borough - so am away from Wood street
etc., amazing what a difference it makes ;)
Yes, the house prices are ridiculous - inflated by the fact we are on
the edge of the M11 and the M25 and have the top trains and undergrounds
here too. 15 minutes you are in the city on the underground.

David C...
We moved to the town centre (above the now-demolished arcade in Hoe
St.) in '64/65, so wew were even closer to the "buzz".

I still have family in Highams Park & near Hale End Road, so I'm
relatively familiar with your end of town.
Certainly couldn't afford to move back.....

Frederick Williams...
Not a Tarquin or a Henrietta among them!

John the R-T...
Thanks frogman. For those who can't see the page 'cos of line wrap

Tickettyboo...
That'll be another trial by media then.
