Brill holiday in Gran Canaria - 2 weeks of total relaxation which was just
what Baldrick needed. Bought a magnetic travel scrabble on the flight out
there - played "Best of 3... Oh OK, best of 5.....Oh go on then, best of 7"
games per day.....LOL. Best £12 I've spent in ages!

Emmm did nobody tell you about the Upsland custom, nay law, that you must
bring back pressies for us all ???? Booze is good, Bird of Paradise flowers
from the Canaries is OK and booze is good :-)

I presumed it was OK from Gran Canaria.

There were posters everywhere saying that kinda thing is no longer alowed
when flying to UK.....for heaven's sakes - I might highjack a plane with a
flower!!

Oh that's sad, I loved the bunches of Bird of Paradise flowers and I bought
some Bougainvillea too.

Go easy on those shot glasses won't you?? The ones that taste like
Pastchouli joss sticks - it is a locally made honey rum & is pretty potent.

Weather was well hot; seems they are having one of their (once every few
years) 'ultra' heat-waves - temp had reached 52 day we arrived! Didn't get
much cooler than that for the fortnight either.
So.........
How's everyone on here?

Nice to see you back again, lucky you - sounded as if you definitely
enjoyed yourself. 52 is a little high - would not suit me at all :)

Yup - was way too high for me too!! The night we arrived was unbearably
hot. There were days when I just wanted to collapse - got by by having
loads of showers every day......must admit we didn't sleep too well in the
heat! Afternoon sleep with curtains closed was essental too. Don't think I
have ever experienced that kind of heat before.....
