Don't use a pan Pingu. I put a large measure (about an egg cup size) of
oats in a bowl the one on water and two of skimmed milk (can all be milk
or even crean but I am watching my weight) pt the bowl in the microwave
for 1 minute stir then pop back for about 30 seconds, stir in a desert
spoon on honey and there you are :-) lovely and only the bowl to wash up

What a small appetite you have Jen. Not worth dirtying a bowl for! :-)

LOL!!!
One thing I've always been amazed (& fascinated) by, is actually
how *little* Oats you need (if they are really decent Oats), to make
a *massive* great big Helping!
Like Jen says, even just an Eggcupful (half a normal cupful?)
of Oats can have *3* times that amount of Milk/Water added to it
& then (when Cooked in a Microwave) it sort of "puffs up" & expands
to fill a great big bowl!
:-)

They are just greedy Paul

You must be using Baby Bear's bowl because there's no way an eggcupful of
oats and 3 times that amount of liquid would fill this Daddy Bear's bowl

It might have been Daddy Bears *egg cup* LOL
Foxy at w**k...
|
lol suggesting *what* exactly :-)
JoeH...
|
just that it'd then be enough for a Daddy Bear's bowl, that's all LOL

I had some for breakfast, Pingu. Jordan's Conservation Grade.
Put a cupful of dried oats in a saucepan, add two cupfuls of water,
Bring to the boil, then simmer for four minutes stirring (to avoid
sticking).Pour into dish and consume.
I have mine poured over fresh mango chunks and Linusit Gold
(from golden linseed)
No sugar, it's sweet enough.
No milk,it's bad for you. Instead masticate it and swallow in a ball
of saliva. Digestion starts in the mouth.
Enjoy and be Healthy.

I use soya milk with mine Sam - it's delicious :)

I cook mine in the microwave with delicious creamy soya milk and I do not
add sugar or salt.

½ cup of porridge oats - proper porridge oats mind ;-)
1½ cups of water
½ teaspoon salt (more or less to taste)
Put all ingredients in a plastic jug.
Microwave for 2 minutes on full power, give it a stir, microwave again for
1 - 2 mins.
I find one of those rubber squeegee things designed for emptying cake mix
bowls very useful for emptying the jug and leaving it almost spotless :-))
Pour the whole lot into a bowl and leave to stand for a couple of minutes.
Add milk. Add sugar if you must :-)
Enjoy!

That's more like it! Jen only uses an egg cup of oats & milk!
I make mine similar to yours Mike only I use half--and-half milk & water and
no salt. I also like demarara sugar on mine 'cos it makes it a bit crunchy!

I like demerara sugar on mine and then pop it under the grill until it
caramelises :-) I also do that with grapefruit halves
