uker...
After hearing lots of praise, about Firefox. I've just started to use it,
as my default browser. But as far s I can see, it's lacking one major
feature. Which is Edit with Front Page? As I use that a lot to make my web

Ebeneezer Ponder...
That's not lacking, that's a bonus! ;)

datasmog...
Exactly.
The benefit of Firefox is that you don't use Internet Explorer.
And if you really really must use Front Page, open Front Page. Don't
expect Firefox to do it for you.

I'm actually more than a little alarmed at the thought of you poaching
other peoples web pages anyway.

uker...
Angelfire is the web server I use. To make my internet pages. & the easiest
way to sign in to any page you want to edit is by opening it up in a web
browser (Explorer) and then going to edit Front Page. & it asks you to sign
in, you do your editing, and then just click save. & you’re done.

So I would like the same feature in Firefox so I don’t have to use Explorer.

datasmog...
in that case have a look at the Mozilla Suite
The browser toolbar includes an option to edit the viewed page in the
included Composer html editor.
it's sort of like Front Page only better. And free.

andon...
I appreciate that Composer is part of the Mozilla Suite,
but do you know of a source whereby it can be added to
a Firefox Only installation please?
or
When installing the Mozilla Suite is it possible to only install the
component part that one wishes? i.e. Firefox & Composer

MCC...
It's not quite what you are looking for, andon, but Nvu, a Mozilla-based,
stand-alone web-site builder is worth having a look at.
Mozilla are moving away from the integrated browser/e-mail and web builder
program, I believe, and Nvu is the supposed replacement for Composer.

andon...
Thanks again MCC.
Most excellent.

MCC...
You're very welcome, andon :-)

Nvu (NewView) looks and flies very like the old "WebEdit" program
whilst handling up-to-date coding. The future promises even more
development and continuing Free Download, no-experience needed to use
and produce.

QUOTE
Nvu was started from the Mozilla Composer code base. The Mozilla
Internet suite is in the process of being broken up into individual
pieces (browser, email, etc.). Nvu will pick up where Composer left
off, adding additional features, functionality and ease of use.

MCC...
I like the way I am able to make external or internal Cascading Style
Sheets with it.

It has got its faults but I'm sure they'll be sorted soon.

andon...
Thanks. Not found that one before. I'll give it a fly.
Fed up with having to launch Arachnophilia to make
minor edits that are not suited to EditPad.

sites. Is there way of doing this from Firefox, without having to open up
Explorer?

JoeH...

In the meantime (if you haven't already) get the IE view extension
for Firefox from

and you can open IE by right clicking on any page. You can also set
pages to automatically open in IE if they don't work as expected in
Firefox.
