I got the quantitative results of last Friday's cholesterol blood test
today.
The level was 4.5 mmol/ml compared to 4.9 mmol/ml at the beginning of
September and 5.3 mmol/ml in February. The only change to my diet I've made
in that time is to replace butter by 'Benecol Buttery Taste spread', and
perhaps a little more fruit. So it looks like the Benecol really has
w*rked. Bilirubin was at 30 which is right at the top edge of normal - so
I'm still alive and kicking - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - just. :)

You know how you see dogs chasing cars ? You know they wouldn't know what to
do with one if they caught it ? You can see where I'm heading :-)

But it's the thrill of the chase that counts

Glad your cholesterol is lower FN, are you diabetic as you are having
these tests?
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
|
I was borderline on that in February Jackie, so I'll need another glucose
Jackie...
|
Oh! I see, I think Ted had had diabetes for some time and did not know
it. So better safe than sorry.

That's the way they w*rk now isn't? Don't they get bonus points or Brownie
points for doing all these checks on pensioners these days?

Just completed my Saturday afternoon balanced meal.
1st course: One ginormous fry up - 2 eggs, 2 rashers of bacon, ½ slice fried
*brown wholemeal* bread, 1 *tomato* , 1 sliced fried *new potato*, 4
mushrooms and 4 sausages. Washed down with an ample glass of *low* alcohol
white wine. ,
2nd course: ¼ lb *fresh strawberries* , 1 large *Jaffa orange* , 1 large
*Cox's orange pippin* . Washed down with a mug of hot AltaRica coffee ( 2
sugars and a dash if *skimmed milk* )
1 packet of Maltezers to follow in about ½ hour's time. :)
Do you think that'll cover my 5 servings of fruit and veg for the day? Or
shall I have that ¼ lb of ice cool seedless grapes from the fridge at tea

Possibly - the potatoes don't count, but the mushrooms do (although a
portion is given as *14* button mushrooms)
