In the South we do also get SunSets you know!
:-)

OK, down here in the South it (SunSet) happens a little bit earlier
than 10 O'Clock at night - but the Sun does still Set!

Smokey...
Oh, well done Mike !!
And the photographs are where?

Rabbit...
Atta boy, you tell 'im. We're still waiting after about two years for his
jolliday piccies :-)

pmj...
Ooop North?

Old Grizzly...
so what are you talking about Mike LOL what *is* simmer dim? or is that
Gaelic for sunset ;-)

MCC...
We don't speak Gaelic in Orkney or Shetland ;-) It's a foreign language to
us.
Simmer dim is the Shetland expression to describe the time at mid-summer
when the sun just about sinks below the horizon but never enough for it to
get completely dark on a clear night.

Old Grizzly...
oic LOL and......... so if you dont speak Gaelic may i ask what it is
you do speak. ?? LOL amongst yourselves of course otherwise i expect i
wouldnt understand anyway LOL

MCC...
We speak our own dialects of English, which is heavily laced with old Norn
(Scandinavian) words. The Shetland and Orcadian dialects are not the same -
there are lots of differences and the Shetland dialect has many more of the
old words.

Rabbit...
According to a programme I watched recently Orcadian has more in common with
Lowland Scots ( Lallans) than Gaelic.
BTW have you seen http://sco.wikipedia.org ? :-)
