Joe...
I know Bram has already suggested a "northern" meet later in the year but,
in the absence of anything concrete, I'm going to propose a
"Newcastle-meet-2" (2005 being the first).

Bram...
There ain't much concrete left in Noocastle. It's all been pulled down and
replaced with something noo. That's why it's probably a nice place for a
meet.

I was going to propose a York Meet. I thought that that new big wheely thing
would attract people to it. Thing is., I'm so blinking busy I may never get
around to organizing it.

Joe...
I'm equally happy going to York

Bram...
I'm equally happy going to Noocastle
:-)

I'll go for Noocastle.

Let's vote on it..
If anyone wants Noocastle, wave a bottle of Broon.
If anyone want's York, wave a Yorkshire Pudden.
:-)

I have two dates in mind, for different reasons. The first is 20th August
and the second 2nd December (both Saturdays).

Any takers?

Bram...
I'll go for Saturday The 19th August.
Just watch out that those Talktowners don't try and create a distraction on
the same day by having one of their garden parties.

Joe...
Not much we can do about that is there? Unless one has *already* been
arranged, does anyone know?

:-)

2nd December.?
Yule be organising that as a Chrxstmas Do as well then.?

Joe...
:))
It was an *either/or* type thing not an *and* one. We could even do York in
summer and Newcastle later, or vice versa. I'm happy to do either or both
(or neither, if it comes to that).

Bram...
I'd be happy for you to do both.

Got anywhere nice for our party..?
:-)

Foxy at w*rk...
Silly question of course he will have

Joe...
Well Jen will just *have* to see what's on at the Baltic this time round -
she *so* enjoyed the last exhibition. LOL

Smokey...
I'm waving a bottle of broon first in my right hand, and a yorkshire pudd
next in my left hand :-)) wont know tilln earer the time If i can go

Bram...
Hey Joe. Smokey's getting them in,look. Your round next.!!

Foxy at w*rk...
lol I am easily pleased lol

tho..............so putting my name on the reserve list for just now,
fingers crossed
So ignore my vote.............lol

Joe...

WestYorkshireman...
Check with Dave Joe 9th August is great for us. Come on everyone :-) it's

Joe...
Yes three hours from Manchester Piccadilly direct to Newcastle Central
Station.

great fun

WestYorkshireman...
Gosh it would help if I could type 19th August not 9th and it's Jenny on

Pam the goose...
I take it that is Newcastle upon Tyne?
In our part of the world we tend to think of Newcastle as being Newcastle
under Lyme in Staffs!
Newcastle upon Tyne is a little too far for me to travel these days.

Bram...

Smokey...
I'm not mean, have another.................lol

Bram...
Wow! These Yorkshire Puds are intoxicating!!
It's on the transpennine express route. That's only one little train ride
and not as far as Scotland ;-)

Joe...
LOL - Bram of the Meet Marketing Board strikes again.

Bram...
I haven't even started yet!!
;-)

Anyway. If you are not up to it we understand. :-)

Joe...
Of course we do.

We need someone in your area to organise a Chester Meet perhaps..?

Pam the goose...
Or even a Manchester. Somewhere near the M6 or M62.
Any offers?

Bram...

Smokey...
Home made too ;-)))

Bram...
Wot!!?

In Yorkshire!!!?
:-)
It's got to be one of you North Western Lot.

Yes, I really am not up to it.

Bram...
You'll know when you are. We'll leave it up to you.

One day the gooses will get to a meet:)

Bram...
Hiya Jenny!!

Westies PC btw

Joe...
Wey hey!

David C....
August 19th could work for me, probably drive up a day or two early &
stay a few nights in a local hostelry......
It would make sense to combine it with a trip further north, since I
fancy a few days in Scotland.

David C.

Foxy at w*rk...
It would be great to meet you David

Splodge...

Joe...
The station is up the hill and the hotel down (as is the river LOL)

Don't worry Jan, there are frequent electric buses up and down, flat fare
of 70p a journey or £2.80 (a drink and a bits worth) for an all day ticket.

Joe...
Just to allay any fears in case others are put off by the word "bank" in
conjunction with "Newcastle" and "meet".

Newcastle Quayside will, weather permitting, be the hub of the daytime part
of the meet. The Quayside itself is as flat as a f@rt.

Most of Newcastle city centre is flat too. It's just the bit in between
that's not and as I posted above there's a good bus service available if we
need or want to make the journey from Quayside to City Centre.

David C....
I'm having problems in finding affordable accomodation in Newcastle
City Centre.
There is space in the Whitemare Pool Travelodge, it seems to be near
Heworth Metro Station, so if it's possible to park a car at there, I
could always ride the Metro into the City.

I'd appreciate any local knowledge re. parking etc.
(Thanks Joe....)

Otherwise, it's time to start searching the local B&B's, again
hopefully near a Metro Station!

Joe...
Try some of these David

All near Metro or........cough........splutter.......bus links.

David C...
Thanks Joe. I'll report back, ASAP!

Isn't a bus a sort of a cheaper version of a limousine?

Generally I prefer my public transport to have rails!
I've just booked myself, P-f and Toyboy into the Travelodge up there.
Not all into the same room, though........
Splodge

Joe...

Splodge...
Thanks Joe
Splodge
Which one are you all in Jan?

Foxy at w*rk...
lol That's what you tell us. Which Travelodge Jan ? Allthough I think we
are not staying over now as we cannot get anyone to look after doggie Jaks

David C...
I've no objection to using a Travelodge too.
Would it make sense to stay in the same one?
Newcastle seems to have one in Gatehead'ish & one in't the toon.

Foxy at w*rk...
The town one was fully booked last night David

Foxy at w*rk...
If you are booking in the same one as PF Toyboy and Jan (Splodge) It would
make sence for a taxi into town I would think

~~Linda~~...
Not to mention the running up and down corridors in the middle of the night
:-)

Joe...
Or Manchester or Liverpool or...or...or...

Bram...
I was thinking of somewhere nice, Joe.

Pam the goose...
T H W A C K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was born in Liverpool!

Bram...
Gerrofff yer Scally!!!!

Pam the goose...
We don't talk like that there.
We use the King's English.
Well, it was the King's when I lived there:))

Bram...
Yer..., and Knowing Liverpool, you proably knicked it!!!

Foxy at w*rk...
lol Now ~~Linda~~ there will be none of that lol

~~Linda~~...
Hehe, bet there will be 'giggling' up and down the corridors though :-)

Foxy at w*rk...
I bet there will

biffo...
Hey Joe is 20th Aug 2006 not on a Sat ????

Joe...
I knew that, I *knew* that - just testing and you've all passed. LOL
*OOOOOOOOPs*

Of course I mean *Saturday 19th August* (thanks Smokey)

BunnyHare...
Shame, I will be up in a balloon on that Saturday in August.

Foxy at w*rk...
Bu**er We will miss you AGAIN lol

BunnyHare...
Well I will probably be in Leeds (not sure of the exact date yet) in the
summer for the Trefoil ~Guild AGM. Might persuade my friend to let me
stay over for a few days!

Foxy at w*rk...
Ohhh goody "a mini meet" :-)

BunnyHare...
Er that was summer (June) 2007 when the AGM is in Leeds cos this year it
was in Belfast

Foxy at w*rk...
Oh I see :-(

Splodge...
Weather and thermals permitting - no, not the Damart sort - the others:)))
Splodge

Foxy at w*rk...
Whey Hey...... I will check with Westies rota and get bck to you Joe.

biffo...
To much Newcastle Brown was the cry ;-)))))))

Joe...

biffo...

Joe...

biffo...
I never got into the habit of mixing my ale with water ;-))))

Joe...
You should visit some of the pubs and clubs I've visited over the years -
they do it for you ;-)

biffo...
And you want a meet up there ;-))))

Joe...
....all of that was a long time ago m8...just ask the "meeters" of 2005 how
they enjoyed themselves.
