May...
Yesterday was supposed to be the last day of the extreme heat-wave..... or
was it?? It doesn't feel like much of a drop in temperature just around
here. Has anyone had any *real* rain the past three days. (Hint, hint)

pmj...
Nope!
Not down here, anyway...

We've only had about half a dozen *drops* of Rain, in the last
few Weeks!

Ponder...
Well it's only 20C now and yesterday it absolutely tipped down, and I
still have a week left of my Summer Leave :(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
24.8°C (76.6°F) in my garden right now -pretty dry at 48% humidity and we
didn't have more than a smattering of rain yesterday and overnight. Still
summer here in South Yorkshire. :)

pmj...
The Temperature here today (actually yesterday, Sunday) has been
noticeably lower.

Though, having said that, on Saturday Night (at around 3 or 4 AM)
the Temperature outside, in the Open, was still over 10 Degrees
Centigrade!!!

pmj...
Doh!!!

Sorry! - that was *supposed* to say *20* Degrees Centigrade!!!
At 3 & 4 AM!!!
:-(

& last Weekend, the Temperature (again at 3 or 4 AM) was 23 Degrees
Centigrade!!!

That's really, very, extremely, oppressively Hot, for night time.
& the Humidity was Yukky as well, which makes it feel even worse.
:-(

I don't normally talk all that much about the "weather", but the
stuff we are getting down here really is beyond a joke!
It's absolutely horrible & unbearable, being so Humid & Muggy.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
You'll just have to move ooop norf ! :)

pmj...
Is the weather less Humid & Muggy "Ooop North" then?

I *hate* the horribly oppressive, & sticky weather.

& BTW - I don't want (too much) Rain, either.

Rabbit...
Ah maybe that's why an area close to me has recently become the place with
the highest sightings of UFOs in the UK. It's been a scouting mission ;-)

David C...
Would the mother-ship have to land, or wuld PMJ use a transporter?

Rabbit...
Oh definitely a transporter, much more techie :-)

DC

(Confessing to have watched too many Stargate episodes recently....)

Rabbit...
Oh no he definitely doesn't use a Stargate, I think I would have noticed
that big metal ring when he was here ;-)

PS Stargate isn't the same without Jack IMHO :-(

David C....
True.

When did he leave, 'cos he's still there at the moment onthe Sky1
reruns?

David C....
Murky buckets.

Rabbit...
He left at the end of season 8. See http://www.epguides.com/StargateSG1/

Cheer up - I've just been w*rking on my ponds. I have a halogen (150W)
floodlight attached to to conifer so that it shines on my larger pond area
if there is movement there when it gets dull in the evenings. Whilst
there about 10 minutes ago this huge black cloud came over - few drops of
large raindrops - and it got so dark, the floodlight switched on. Just
24.9°C there now.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
And now it's down to 22.8°C and as I started to get the electric hedge
trimmer and extension lead out, it started to rain. :(

Rabbit...
All I know is that it was comfortably warm out there this afternoon, no
numbers. However the wind is getting up again now, GFTs are arriving and I
wouldn't be surprised if we had another tropical storm this evening.

Rabbit...
Yes from early evening yesterday till some time during the night it poured
it down. I can see already that the garden, particularly the grass has
enjoyed it.

All my three houseplants have suffered, despite watering. Two were in
west-facing window--- getting scorched. Have moved them, pruned them,
