...can either of you, or anyone else who used the program, remember the
name of the slideshow generator program we used a couple of years ago which
had all those fancy dissolves between each piccy? I'd like to see if it has
been updated recently. Did it need Java or Javascript or Flash or Shockwave
or some such program?

sorry I can't remember the name just yet but have you looked at Picassa for
slide shows?

Yes, I've looked at Picasa but it doesn't do *web* slide shows, it only
makes web albums :-(
