Wish I had a quick answer for you Jackie but I don't. I have an HP Printer
and have looked in the manual but it gives no info. re. changing font sizes.
pmj...
|
That's correct.
Cos the Font Sizes aren't Set in the *Printer* Settings - they are
Set in whatever Program you are doing the Printing from.
|
I change font sizes in the text programme I am using (usually Ms Word) and
that must tell the printer 'cos it w**ks.

Yep.
That's the way it's designed to work.
Yo uchoose & Set the Font Sizes inb the Program that you are Printing
from - either your Word Processor (such as M$ Word or Wordpad etc,)
or Text Editor (such as Notepad) or any Program such as Internet
Explorer or OutLook Express.
They all have various Settings in them, to change the Size of the
Fonts that are used.
|
Hope someone with a quick answer comes along quickly for you.

Thank you Donut, I have looked in the manual but could find no information,

See above.
It's not the *Printer* manual you need to look in, but rather the
Instructions (Help File etc,0 for the *Program* your are Printing from.
|
this happens when I print out anything from OE and IE!!
donut...
|
Ah - try this:-
Go to Internet Explorer
Click on View
Click on Text Size
There is a list - try 'smaller'
Close your IE & OE then go back and try to see if that has wo**ed - it does

Ah...
As it happens, OutLook Express actually uses (parts of) the Internet
Explorer "Engine" for it's Page Layout & printing, so a lot of (but
not all of) the changes that you can make in one of those Program will
also affect stuff in the other.
I see (from another Reply of yours) that you have sussed it now?
It's the Menu>View>Text Size stuff that controls how big the stuff
is Printed (& also how big it is when Viewed on the Screen)
& also, in OE you can Set the Sizes in the "Read" tab of the Options
Dialog Box.
You can also (in both IE & OE) use the Mouse Wheel to change the Size
of the Fonts - CTRL & Wheel Zooms in & Out.
In M$ Word CTRL + Wheel only changes the *Display* Size & not the
Printed Size, which is done by using the various Font Formatting
Options & Menus & ToolBar Icons.
