Troy's Human...
I'm having a go at brewing my own beer again. Did it many years ago but am
now trying again.

Sprinkled the yeast on it 24 hours ago. Seems to be all happening now -

BunnyHare...
Looks like something from the Quartermass experiment :-))

Looks good - can't wait :-)

MCC...
Ignore those Philistines, TH - they obviously don't know a good brew when
they see one :-))

Troy's Human...

Foxy at w*rk...
That brings back memories of being at home with Mum and Dad. Dad liked his
homebrew :-)
I normally ignore them Mike but on this occasion a little education for
them is called for :-)

Fine time of year to be brewing - plenty of warmth to get the yeast
working.

Troy's Human...
Big problem is keeping it cool enough in this heatwave. I can heat it up to
the required temperature when needed.

Please send a dozen bottles to Cornwall ;-))
Oh! I've just remembered - I don't drink any more :-((
Just spill most of it

Troy's Human...
Sorry - it won't be put in bottles :-( Pressurised 40 pint barrel :-) I'll
email you a bit of it !!

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Looks like the top of a lemon meringue pie to me. :)

Troy's Human...
Well it's not !!!

It's serious stuff - "Woodforde's Norfolk Wherry Best Bitter"

JoeH...
like this you mean

Troy's Human...
That's it *exactly* !

JoeH...
Thought so ;))

Sounds good - I was drinking that on the Broads earlier this year :-)

Troy's Human...
Do visit me with a few Broads to share and I'll share a few pints of beer
with you :-)

David C...
Me too Sir?

David C...
Why am I not surprised?

Gonna be good :-)

Nice one TH. I'm just waiting for the temperatures to drop a little before
I start my next batches. Judging from that krausen you've had quite a
vigorous 24 hours. What temperature is it fermenting at? I had a beer
reach around 27C, ambient temperature was 24 - I brewed too close to a
radiator. After it was kegged for a couple of weeks I took a taste and the
fusel characters (amyl alcohols for any chemists!) were quite dominant so
I left it for another couple of weeks in the cold. When I tried it again
it had mellowed out a bit and produced quite a nice brew in the end.

Troy's Human...
Temperature was a bit too warm to start with (75°F) but I think it was OK.
It's down to 67°F now and doing fine.

Woodfordes kits are mainly entirely hopped malt extracts with little or no
sugar added I think. You'll have to let us know how it tastes as I'm yet
to brew an entire malt beer. I usually brew from the extracts that require
a bag of sugar.

Troy's Human...
This is my second attempt. The first was York Brewery's "Yorkshire Terrier
Bitter". Nearly all gone now but it was very nice and will certainly do
that one again. My neighbour has just done Woodforde's "Norfolk Nog" - his
first attempt. We tried the first sample yesterday evening - very nice
indeed - nice and dark :-)

OK these kits cost a bit more - (£16.50 for the 40 pint kit) but I think
they're well worth it. I'll let how my Woodforde's kit tastes in perhaps a
couple of weeks.

JoeH...
Does that come with a flake then TH? ;)

David C...
Not "everything" that looks like it's vaniila falvoured needs a flake!

Foxy at w*rk...
That's less than 50p a pint, even allowing for a bit of wasteage
Naaah :-)

It's serious homebrew :-)
