Not a good start

to the year.
I recently contacted an old mate through Friends Reunited.
Haven't seen or heard of this guy for 45 years+ so was looking
forward to meeting up with him in the near future.
Sent him an e-mail Ch*****as card.

Just had an e-mail from his wife telling me he did not get to see it
as he died on December 11.

Sorry about that Wally but at least you managed to contact him again, I'm
sure he appreciated that.

That is so sad Wally. I think we are all guilty of putting things off
until tomorrow then tomorrow never comes.
Not quite in the same category but we had been promising to visit
friends we haven't seen for about 25 years but just never got around to
it. This year we had separate Christmas cards from them and the news
that, after 36 years of marriage, they have gone their separate ways

Must stop putting thing off in the future.

Sometimes it's not *putting off*, at the time you make the plan it all seems
right, the time, the place, the occasion. Only afterwards when fate ( or
whatever you believe in) intervenes do you wish it had been different.
