Pingu...
While driving back home just now I heard the delightful sounds of 'The Jam'
playing "Strange town" Cant believe that was in 77. I arrived home before it
finnished, but just sat and listned till it ended. Great stuff!

Rabbit...
Oldies? 1977? Sheesh Pingu thems * that weird modern racket*, oldies go back
from the 60s :-)

Pingu...
Bearing in mind that I wasnt allowed to listen to music till 1981. 1977 is
an oldie to me. I do remember things like "wheres your mama gone" (possibley
part of a verse and not the title) Procal Harem's "whiter shade of pale" was

Parrotfish...
Ah, that'll be........ 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep' by Middle of the
Road. Lol.... Best place for them ! ;o)

Pingu...
Yes I was thinking that was the title when I posted.

Lol.... Best place for them ! ;o)

Pingu...
I wouldnt know! I was just a little person who's mind was not my own, all
attitudes, and preferences was that of the woman I saw and spent most of the
time with. My Mother! Her tastes became mine. Since being allowed to make
my own mind up about what I wanted to listen to, I developed tastes that
stretched as diversly from Prince Buster, through Van Morrison in his
'Astral weeks' era into two tone Ska, Blues and Acid Jazz, Vangelis. Now
I'm diversifying into Classical and Theraputic relaxation styles.

played to me when I was in the whomb which is probebly why I love it so
much. I am a product of the summer of love. The Beatles went to India then,
and I was being produced (conceived) in India at that time.

Frederick Williams...
Just a coincidence?

David C....
So, just when was the "summer of love"?

IMVHO, Radio2 is playing the music that the majority of it's
listener's are at home with.( Reckless Eric, Mark K., The Quo,
Genesis),
Since the baby - boomers are probably the biggest single segment of
the Radio 2 audience, then it makes sense to play muysic that they can
identify with, no?

Does anyone regret the passing of TOTP?
I've been in the audience twice, (many years ago....) & it felt unreal
even then.

David C.

Frederick Williams...
Why doesn't Radio 2 stick to quality popular music and leave pop to
Radio 1?
