Rabbit...
I bought new phones today. On reading the destruction leaflet it tells me
that I should run the batteries flat at least once a week. However since
there are 200 hours of standby per charge and only 168 hours in a week and
considering that probably at least one phone will not be used for a call in
any given week, how can you discharge the batteries every week.? I don't
remember seeing those destruction on the current DECT phones, certainly
never discharged them and I didn't think these batteries had a memory now,
well not one which made any difference anyway.
Anybody ever discharged their phone batteries every week ?

Jackie...
No, we never do, don't remember seeing anything about running them flat.
I often leave one of the phones off at night
to let it run down a little.

Mike Tullett...
If your phone has Bluetooth, switch it on and discharge will be much
faster, even if you don't make any calls.

Rabbit *did* have that brain cell! LOL
No, I never drain the batter every week, more like once a month... and then
only by accident.

I *think* rechargeable batteries should be discharged, especially to begin
with. It makes them more efficient. We don't leave our phones in the

I knew some like laptops and definitely my old video camera needed to be
discharged 'cos they had a memory.

Rabbit...
Sheesh TH I'd lose them down the back of the sofa or somewhere if I didn't
replace them :-

remove from the charger.

Rabbit...
But these destructions say fully discharged and I'm wondering too if that
won't lose your list of numbers. 'Sides I still haven't figured out how to

Don't worry about that - it will keep them.

Thanks TH

discharge 200 hours of charge *every* week :-)

I could be wrong .................

Rabbit...
You're going to be kicked out of the male gender for saying that ;-)

Michaelangelo...
A simple solution would be to develop schizophrenia. You would then have
336 hours per week to play with between the two of you. Problem solved!

Rabbit...
We will think about that :-)

David C...
We are not amused..............

Jeff Gaines...
1) You need to *run* them harder :-)

2) Batteries are like muscles, they need regular exercise or they become
lifeless. I have a muscle or two like that :-(
