You can still watch it!
:-)
Top Gear (like quite a few of the BBC 2 TV Programmes) is available
on their Website (for a week after the original Broadcast)...
It's available as a Real Audio/Video or WMP (windoze Media Player)
Stream, in Versions suitable for Narrowband (less than 250kbps)
Connections or for WideBand (greater than 250 kbps) Connections
You can Play it using an ActiveX Control Embedded in the Page,
or in a Standalone RealPlayer (or windoze Media Player) Window...
Here's a Link to the .RAM (Real Audio/Video Meta) File of it,
so you can Open it up in RealPlayer...
& here's a Link to the actual .RA (rtsp:// - RealTime Streaming
Protocol) Stream, (that is contained in that (Plain Text) Meta File)
so you can Copy & Paste it & can Download & Save it (that's if you
have some Utility Software that will actually Download the Stream -
obviously, it's *intended* to be watched directly & not Downloaded
& Saved...
rtsp://rmgeo.bbc.net.uk/bbctwo/media/programmes/topgear/bb/topgear_210506_full_16x9_bb.rm
That Top Gear Program (in the WideBand RealPlayer Version of it on
that .RAM Link) is about 98 MB.
I just Downloaded it (like I do with several of their Programmes,
which I have Missed so I can watch them) & for some reason the
Download itself seems to keep stopping & Starting (maybe cos the
Servers would normally only Send it at the "Real Time" BitRate,
(225 kbps), which allows time for it to "Buffer, but when it's being
Downloaded, it comes a lot quicker) & it took about 15 Minutes to
Download the Hour long (98 MegaBytes) Program.
That's about 115 KiloBytes Per Second (which is just over 1mbps)
&, of course, once it's Saved on your PC, then it will Play with no
Buffering at all & you can Stop it & Start it & Wind back & forwards
through it instantly.

Why not just download it and be done with?
Always carries the Top Gear and Fifth Gear programs
for downloading. They have arcs going back to 04 for the programs you
missed too :-)
Hope you enjoy.

Pity you can't video 'The Archers' isn't it? :)

|
Ah...
But you *can*!
:-)
The Archers (like many Programs on BBC Radio 4) is available from
their Website, for a Week after it's Broadcast.
The same as some of the BBC 2 TV Programs (such as Top Gear) are.

I'd forgotten the Listen Again feature pmj. I've used it loads of times

Thanks for the reminder
