BunnyHare...
Would you believe it. Just had another try and it took the photos into an
album straight away didn't even ask me to log on!!
So the pictures are over but haven't yet found out how to put captions so
the first few are of Wells and the others are Cheddar Gorge

Aries...
very interesting Barb. I've never been to Cheddar Gorge although when we
lived in the West Country I often saw signs up for it - must do something
about that sometime soon. Also Glastonbury Cathedral etc - that would be
a nice place to visit me thinks :)

Old Grizzly...
do you mean Wells Cathedral? or Glastonbury Abbey? you should see both
;-) Wells is one of the best in the country and the Abbey is a must as
well. Let me know when you are going ;-)

Aries...
That's the one - erm two - it's an area I've wanted to visit for a long
time :)

Gareth...
OMG It's a most interesting place Val.

BunnyHare...
It is indeed and hopefully I will get another trip there in the not too
distant future and have more time to see everything

When I was younger my parents took us there and we stayed for B&B in a
house that was owned by a granddaughter of the discoverer of one of the
caves - Gough's.
She had lots of interesting books and info and we spent ages learning
all about the place. After we went back into the village we noticed
that the name 'Gough' was everywhere. Gough's Teashop, Gough's Garage,
Gough's Giftshop, Gough's Bakery etc. We went into both of the caves
but from what I can recall Gough's Cave is bigger than Cox's Caves (or
it was then).
I notice that Bunny's photo of the animal statue is on the roof of
*Cox's* Mill Hotel - presumably owned by a descendant of the discoverer
of Cox's Caves.

Nearby Wookey Hole is interesting, as is Wells Cathedral and also close
by at Burrington Combe is the cleft in the rock where in the late 18th
century Augustus Montague Toplady was inspired to write the hymn *Rock
of Ages, cleft for me*, while sheltering from a thunderstorm.

Aries...
It's on my Must See list now - thanks for the info Gareth :)

MCC...
I liked those - especially the Busy Lizzies :-)

To add a caption you have to upload the photos and then click on "View
Online". Underneath each photo click on "Add caption"

BunnyHare...
Had another play and think there will be captions now! Thanks Mike

Jackie...
Lovely pictures Barb, I know Wells very well but not much about Cheddar,

BunnyHare...
Thanks Jackie

must try and go there.

BunnyHare...
I hope I can go back sometime because we only had about an hour there, not
enough time to really see it

I loved the wooden ducks, I have seen them in shops and they usually
have names on them!

BunnyHare...
Oh, I didn't know that. So I have learned something today :-)

I didn't see my daughter in any of the Wells pictures!!!

BunnyHare...
Shame - Noreen did have quite a long conversation with a lady and her sister
one who lived in Wells and the other who was visiting.

Rabbit...
Did you go into the caves ? When I was there they used to store stuff for
Madame Tussauds in some of them. Nice piccies BTW.

BunnyHare...
Unfortunately we only had just over an hour there so not really time to go
in the caves nor climb the steps of Jacob's ladder. There was a major
accident in Gloucester in the morning and the police closed all lanes of the
affected road plus an adjoining road so our bus couldn't get through. It
finally arrived an hour later than it should so our time in both Wells and
Cheddar was cut short. Hopefully they will organise another trip to Cheddar
in the Spring.

Foxy at w*rk...
Lovely Barb. I would have bought one of them there ducks :-)

Splodge...
Another lot of nice piccies Barb. I like all those ducks

BunnyHare...
Yes, I did too. Would have liked to bring them all home with me

Splodge

Pam the goose...
Well, that was worth it!
They're great - love the ladies' loo!!
And I was really fooled by the first one, till I made it larger I really did
think they were real live ducks. They were good:)
Thanks, Barb, they were great:)

Mike Clayton...
Lovely pictures, thanks Barb
