I did read somewhere that there has been some controversy regarding the
accuracy of her portrayal of the queen. As a result, they are now planning
a remake. I'm not sure, but I think it said that Barbara Windsor is to be
cast in the leading role (after all, she is halfway there with the surname
and her Queen Vic.background). Although it will probably be another low
budget job, for authenticity Phillip and Charles will be played by cardboard
cut-outs. Dale Winton has been auditioned for Edward, with Sophie-Ellis
Baxter playing her namesake. Andrew and Fergie didn't really have much of a
part in the original, so to spice it up a bit they're looking at Ray Winston
and Victoria Beckham (if they can get her hair the right shade and get her
to put a bit of weight on). I'm guessing the two boys will be played by Ant
and Dec cos they love dressing up and acting the goat, don't they. Finally,
since there is to be a musical twist to this version, the prime minister is
to be played by his real-life brother Lionel. Never mind what Humphrey
Littleton says about him - he's a thoroughly decent sort and a handy hoofer
to boot.
